okay, i’m taking this question in the spirit it was asked becAUSE dream scenario would have already haPPENED would have been at the end of Swan Song. Would have been Dean and Cas sitting in the Impala after everything. Cas’s curious “You’re angry” and Dean’s “Where’s my grand prize?” and Cas would have immediately, with a tilt of his head, hummed out, “Maybe Heaven doesn’t need a sheriff, after all. Maybe I could remain here.” And Dean would cant his eyes to the side, taken aback. And he would ask, “Here?” and Cas would blink back at him and says, “If that’s all right with you, Dean. If that’s something you would want. You asked for free will, didn’t you? And you got it. You can make the choice. What do you want, Dean?” And Dean would think about it for a long moment and then wheel Baby over to the side of the road and just stare out the windshield for a longer moment and Cas would let him have all the time he needed until eventually Dean choked out, “You. Stay, Cas. Heaven don’t need a sheriff. Don’t-- Stay. I want you to stay.” And Cas would smile that same I like that. Yeah. smile and reach across the front bench to hold Dean’s hand.

BUT LIKE. OTHER THAN THAt.

God gets finished and Amara too and Jack restores Order and Balance. He hands it over to the Fates, to Billie and her Reapers. It’s true and real free will and they only intervene to keep things running. Laissez-faire humanity, as far as divinity is concerned. Which means, Jack explains to newly-human Cas (depowered, of course, in the quest to beat God) with a broad grin, that the Empty holds no power.

“You’re free from your deal,” he tells his father, guileless.

And Cas has a long minute to revel in that, to actually find room on his face for a smile, before Dean turns, still covered in the ash of final fights, and asks, “What deal, Cas?”

But Cas doesn’t explain. Cas just looks at his human, his angry, righteous, kind, loving human who has finally, finally, finally reached the end of the line. Who can finally lay out a system of roots and lay his head to rest. He laughs (which makes Dean’s eyes almost pop out from rage) and strides forward and grabs Dean by the collar of his flannel and kisses him squarely.

And Dean kisses back, of course he does, and Sam just kind of watches in a daze because “...Okay. Yeah, sure.” and Jack is beaming and Billie is rolling her eyes.

And when Cas pulls away he shakes his head a little. “It doesn’t matter,” he says finally answering the question. “We have other work to do.”

okay so: your thoughts on human!cas storyline, demon!dean storyline and how do you think spn will end. go! ✨

okaaaaaay here we go:

human cas - I love human cas with my whole heart but the storyline did him so dirty. I’ll never not be sad thinking about him being homeless and then how happy he was to be in the bunker only to get THROWN OUT. Don’t even get me started on him being SO happy to have a ‘date’. I’m still so salty about it lmao

demon dean - honestly I hated this storyline and I’ve no actual reason why I just really didn’t enjoy it lol

spn end - I would LOVE a happily ever after. Like they defeat chuck and both go on to live their separate but still intertwined lives. Sam has a nice house with Eileen that has a garden for their dogs/kids. Dean and Cas still live in the bunker cause Deans the new Bobby. Jack’s doing his own thing but still pops in on them regularly. A happy ending is the dream ending.

HOWEVER - I fully believe Cas is getting killed off for shock value and the end is gonna be bloody and sad and will WRECK me.

omg!!! i know we don’t know each other well but i saw this post and could not resist: we literally had a public discussion in poland a few years back bc we improved our social help for the poorest, and with that help they decided not to go to germany to, amongst others, pick the damn asparagus and germany allegedly complained that we don’t want to pick their asparagus anymore lol

I know the problem and I’m absolutely sure that Germans complained that others won’t pick their damn Asparagus for them. It is so damn disgusting. I did something similar in school and most adults working there, were Polish or from other former Eastern-bloc countries. It is hard work and it certainly doesn’t pay well. I mean, we thankfully have minimum wage now, but the employers find way to stay below that. It was okay paying as a job for a pupil, but if you have to feed a family from that it is way to low. It is so disgusting how little we value the hard work.

Every single year there are TV shows where they try to make unemployed Germans into harvest hands. Because they said they’d take any job and a job is better than being unemployed, right? Never ever, does any of these persons stay at the job.

Day 1: 5 out of 30 unemployed persons show up. The others have good reasons why they can’t show up. Like hayfever that they suddenly developed. Or the sun is really hot that day. Or they thought the work starts at 5PM and not 5AM.

Day 2: only one person is left, the others can’t work there, because their back hurts, their feet hurt, and their doctors said that they can’t be outside for more than 20 minutes.
