Free VCHA TW: Mentions of Suicide, Eating Disorders, Unconsentual Surveilence and Self-Harm
I don't even know where to start...
My heart absolutely breaks for VCHA right now.
Hearing about everything they’ve been through- the self-harm, the gained ED's, the surveillance, the suicide attempts- it’s devastating.
Especially when those girls minors as well.
No one, especially young girls, should ever have to endure this kind of pain just to chase their dreams.
The fact that KG is filing a lawsuit to terminate her contract says so much about the conditions she’s been facing.
This isn’t just about one group or one company- it’s an industry-wide problem.
And let me preface-
before anyone starts directing all their anger at J.Y. Park, it’s crucial to understand that he isn’t the one pulling the strings- especially in the subsidaries.
Yes, he’s the face of JYP Entertainment and a prominent figure in the industry, but he’s not micromanaging every decision or daily operation involving artists like VCHA. Decisions about trainee management, promotional schedules, or group dynamics are typically made by a network of executives, managers, and staff within the company. J.Y. Park might set the tone as a founder, but the way the system functions extends far beyond him.
Instead of focusing on hating or blaming one person, we should direct our energy toward challenging the larger system. This isn’t just a “JYP problem”- it’s an issue ingrained in the ENTIRE entertainment industry, where idols are often seen as products rather than people.
Real change requires dismantling the exploitative practices and structures that allow mistreatment to happen, no matter which company is involved. Let’s shift the conversation to fight the system that perpetuates this harm, rather than focusing on an individual who is only a visible part of it.
These are kids debuting in hyper-competitive, high-pressure environments, with their lives micromanaged for profit. The secrecy VCHA endured pre-debut only adds to the emotional strain. I hope this lawsuit opens more eyes to the toll this industry takes on these artists.
This year alone has been a disaster for the industry. There have been countless reports of idol abuse, mistreatment, and even deaths linked to the extreme pressures idols face. The tragic situation with VCHA is just another example in a long line of issues that need to be addressed. The exploitation of minors and idols in general in the K-pop industry is a problem that can’t be ignored any longer. It’s beyond time for a widespread reckoning, where the industry shifts its focus from maximizing profits to truly caring for the well-being of its artists.
I hope KG’s lawsuit, along with the attention that this case is receiving, opens more eyes to the toll the industry takes on its artists- especially those who are still so young.
These idols deserve more than just our admiration; they deserve our empathy, our support, and a system that treats them as people, not products. My heart goes out to KG and the rest of VCHA, and I pray they find the healing and support they so desperately need.
They are worth so much more than the system that’s failed them.

The Idol, Part 1: Into the Spotlight A Let's Play Series by Elle Plays - Premiering in October on Youtube
Valentina (19, Mexican-American) has finally achieved her lifelong dream - becoming an idol. After years of an intensive trainee program in Seoul, she is set to debut in Maxis Music Entertainment's first global girl group: ALPHEM (hip-hop/R&B girl group)
Valentina & her groupmates, Gemma (21, German-South African), Isa (21, Filipino), Yumi (20, Japanese), & Zuri (22, Kenyan), have survived one of the most infamous trainee scandals in K-pop history. Now, with their debut days away in Del Sol Valley, every move is under a microscope. Can ALPHEM prove they're more than the headlines?
VCHA'S rebrand as GIRLSET
The group's current energy
╰┈➤ ace of cups, the sun, the fool, 8 of cups, the star + 8 of swords, the devil, 7 of swords, 6 of cups, 3 of cups.
This is like a new beginning for them, it seems that all four of them are really happy about it and they can't wait to redebut under this new name, they have been walking away from the past and has let go of everything that has happened, they are stepping into a new phase of their life, this time they feel happier, healthier and more excited. In the past, they have been mistreated, abused, and taken advantage of, it was a toxic energy and they were in a toxic environment as well, this situation has come to an end, they stayed by each other side and came out of it stronger.
How do they feel about the new name?
╰┈➤ 6 of cups, the empress, 2 of cups, 5 of cups, the tower, 5 of swords, the world, wheel of fortune
They love it, it feels new, but they love it, the 5 of cups and the tower can indicate a sudden change, a transformation, maybe at the beginning they were like, confused? Asking why would they change their names, but eventually agreed to it, they might feel like changing the name would change the trajectory of their life. They could still be getting used to it, but they love it.
Lexi's perspective
╰┈➤knight of wands, judgement, 8 of cups, ace of cups, 8 of wands, temperance, 2 of wands.
She feels very excited, very driven and passionate about it, she can't wait for the fans to see what they've been working on, it's like she just can't wait to show the real Lexi, she could be feeling like Vcha was just a test and that she has been preparing all this time for this, she has walked away from the past and her mind and body are fully ready for this journey, she is approaching things with an open mind, she learned from past experiences and now is moving on fast and with a clearer vision.
Camila's perspective
╰┈➤ justice, 6 of swords, queen of wands, 4 of swords, the star, 3 of pentacles.
It's seems like the hardest part is over, I haven't kept up with the whole vcha situation, but it does feel like the girls and the company both came to an agreement, maybe this is why they have rebranded. These girl stuck to each other really strongly, and they overcame possibly the worst situation of their life, but they didn't give up on their dreams, they took a break and came out stronger than ever, and she's very excited too,
Kendall's perspective
╰┈➤ temperance, the moon, the sun, 9 of cups, ace of cups, 10 of pentacles, the high priestess.
Wow, this is such a lovely energy, she's feeling very happy, very excited. I feel like she talked to somebody and that somebody gave her lots of strength to just keep going, she's very well balanced emotionally, she sees things clearly and I also feel like she's very smart and intuitive, she's been led by her soul and intuition, and if she keeps following this energy, I feel like she'll get really successful.
Savanna's perspective
╰┈➤ page of wands, 4 of wands, 6 of wands, page of pentacles, 10 of cups, 6 of swords.
Just like the others, she feels excited and happy, she can't wait to show people what they have been working on, and it feels like for her, it's a new beginning, a new path has opened up for her and she's pretty much positive about it, she's proud of herself for not giving up on her dream and still following her heart, I feel like she got lots of support from her friends and family, and that is what made her stay.
JYP's perspective
╰┈➤ the tower, 3 of swords, the hanged man, the fool, 10 of swords, 6 of swords.
Okay wow, so this is a very interesting energy, and it truly feels like he's somehow sorry? He wanted to make this group work but everything fell down because of someone being incompetent and not protecting these girls at all. Of course here I'm talking about jyp the ceo, cause it does feel like from this spread that he was somehow unaware of most of the things happening to these girls, it doesn't even look like he was the one abusing them, but it was someone else's fault. And he feels really sorry about it. He wants to make up to them and he's giving them a second chance, I believe that he had a deep conversation with the girls and they all came to an agreement on rebranding as girlset.
Will they be successful as Girlset?
╰┈➤ 6 of wands, ace of wands, queen of wands, page of wands, king of pentacles.
Yes! Very successful, if everything goes smoothly without drama or scandals, they could actually reach the same success as katseye if not bigger than them, they have a really good chance of making it big, there's lots of fire energy in this spread so that makes me think that all the members feel very determined and driven, it doesn't look like they're gonna give up soon.
How will the public perceive them?
╰┈➤ 7 of pentacles, 8 of pentacles, 6 of swords, 4 of wands, 10 of pentacles.
Very positively, they'll see the growth of these girls, I think their re-debut song will be very bold and powerful, that's just what I'm feeling since their concept pics are all about the color red, which makes me think of power, strength and resilience as well. I feel like they're on the verge of something really positive and good for them, and people will see that, they will see how strong these girls have been after all they've been going through.
