It's Silly VC Headcanon Friday!

Here's how you play: I provide a topic and you share a related headcanon (or three) about some of the vampires. You can reblog this post with your response or send me an ask. You can also put it in the tags or comments (these are just hard to share)! Whatever works for you! I will share as many as I can!

The point is just to have fun and share little headcanons about the vampires! Friday Fun Day or something! Don't be shy, there are no wrong answers.

What’s something you think your favorite vampire(s) keep in their pockets?

For example, I think Daniel always has a Zippo lighter. Probably engraved, probably a gift from Armand. He doesn't always have cigarettes anymore (although I think he still smokes as a vampire - you need some vices, even if the the drugs in them have no effect) but he keeps the lighter on him all the time.

Armand carries a wallet with far too many defunct membership cards to places that have gone out of business or are not in the area (“Why do you have a membership card for Miami Video Rental, boss? That place is 1200 miles away and it went out of business in 2007!”) as well as library cards and credit cards under various names that are no longer active, etc. He also has a large array of grocery store discount cards that he collected because he likes the various designs. (Armand makes store clerks happy as he's always thrilled to sign up for the discount card!)

Louis often carries loose change because he likes the weight of it in his pockets.

Lestat carries monogrammed handkerchiefs whenever he remembers because he loves having them to whip out dramatically if the situation calls for it.

What are some things you think some of the vampires keep in their pockets?

For silly vc headcanons, I think that Armand kept the amulet he gave Daniel (because as far as I’m aware the last mention of it was just that Daniel didn’t have it anymore) and he either wears it around his neck under his shirt or just keeps it in his pocket to fidget with.

Of course its intended purpose is worthless now since Armand can hold his own, but I think he’d like the reminder that he was able to protect Daniel with it as well as just the possessiveness of having something that was once Daniel’s :]

This is so great!!! I'm sobbing, this is perfect. I definitely agree he held onto it--no way that sentimental little gremlin (affectionate) would throw something like that away!--but the idea of him carrying it around as a reminder of how he protected Daniel when he needed it and his love for him is just... 😭😭💖💖 Absolutely lovely!

And him wearing it so he can feel it against his chest or fidgeting with it when he needs a little reassurance? Chef's kiss! This is beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing!

During one of his many phases with new technology, Armand carried a pocket recorder to record his passing thoughts, and, most annoying to Daniel, snippets of whatever Daniel was talking about at the time. Armand would argue and say he's just doing what Daniel already did, "isn't that how you recorded Louis? I'm just giving you the same experience, Daniel." But Daniel would be talking about something, asking about getting something to drink or looking around and thinking he's having a conversation with Armand, only to see that Armand has the recorder near his face and now the moment is immortalized in cassette form.

This is so good! I love the idea of Armand recording Daniel in audio form and when he protests just saying, "This was your job, wasn't it? Surely you're not uncomfortable having your voice on tape." Totally missing the point that Daniel was recording agreed upon conversations, not randomly recording snippets of someone complaining about the heat or trying to order Chinese delivery.

And then Armand listening to the tapes later is cracking me up. I can imagine Daniel going through a box of cassettes, many labeled stuff like "Daniel, August 79" and it's just the most random snippets of Daniel talking to Armand or other people or on the phone, sometimes with the television in the background. And Armand refuses to throw any of them away.

This is amazing, thank you for sharing! We often have Armand with a camera but rarely with a tape recorder and I'm digging it!

Today's Question: What's something your favorite vampire or vampires have taken from a victim?

For example, I'm sure several of Armand's rings came from people he killed in addition to him taking their clothes.

I think one time in '89 or '90, Daniel killed a guy who robbed houses and sometimes killed the occupants in the process. Daniel killed him after one such robbery and he disposed of the purloined items with the thief's body, except for one thing: a Nintendo Gameboy. (And then a week later, Armand stole it from him, as he became obsessed with Tetris.)

Louis strikes me as the sort to find taking things from victims distasteful but I do think at least once, he killed someone with an elegant pocket watch that he knew Lestat would love and covet. So he took it for himself. Perhaps eventually he gave it to Lestat, or perhaps he just let Lestat admire it from afar.

I think Louis has cool rocks he found in his pockets at all times. He seems like a guy who would pick up a cool rock.

Yes, totally! He really does seem like the type! I can see him lining them up on one of his bookshelves in front of his books and Lestat demanding to know why he has them and Louis refusing to explain.
