"Here's that Root Beer float I promised. Plus some discount post-Valentines day candy." Clark's raising his glass to clink against Entrapta's. "Cheers!"
Valentine’s Day— an interesting occasion, dedicated to the social phenomenon of submitting one or multiple gifts to a romantic prospect, usually flowers, chocolate, or some other manner of confectionery. She’s done some digging into the history of it on a whim before, but never really felt the urge to participate in other than snatching up a couple boxes of those adorable mini-cupcakes from her favorite bakery.
And it seems Clark has had the right idea, buying candy after the hubbub of the holiday has passed and stores put the pink and red merchandise on markdown just to get it off their shelves, in order to fill them with the next arbitrary, holiday-themed items. Entrapta doesn’t care about all that, though - she’s just happy to tear into a bag of cute little heart-shaped chocolates. But first, the root beer, before the ice cream melts and ruins all the fizz.
The vague instruction to cheer puts a perplexed smile on her face before the straw even meets her lips, and after a moment of glancing between his face, his glass, and her own, it occurs to Entrapta that this must be another little ritual she’s missed out on over the years. Unsurprising— two decades of near-total isolation will do that to a person.
Not wanting to disappoint, she raises her glass - though not quite toward his - and delivers an awkward, almost questioning “yaaaay!” Hopefully that’s what he was going for.
