My Diet
Hello friends:) I just wanted to give a little update about my current diet. I have a lot of acne, and that’s partially why I decided to go vegan. However, there are other components to my diet besides veganism.
When your body is sensitive to heat, there are certain foods that can cause heat and trigger acne. I’m currently on a vegan diet- no meat, no insect/animal products, and of course I am trying to incorporate cruelty free household items to my lifestyle. Also we know that dairy is scary!
Additionally, I have cut out the following: mangos, peanuts, peanut butter, candy, and chocolate. These food ultimately put too much heat in my body, so I have eliminated it for the time being although chocolate will be a bit harder to me to eliminate.
Fried foods: Fries before guys! However, fried foods with all the oil is horrible for acne prone skin, and I love fries and probably will continue to eat them once or twice a month max. Chips are my vice, and I now only eat a handful from a bag in one sitting, but the struggle is real. I am looking for more vegan snacks to have.
Almond milk: A vegan staple. I decided to cut this out per dermatologist recommendation although I do have it in my occasional acai/pitaya bowls. I only really do soy milk. I also like to use coconut milk while its in season, otherwise I’ll avoid it as much as possible.
And of course only drinking W A T E R. I still lack in drinking 4 bottles, but I’m working on it. I also enjoy pressed juiced occasionally.
I’m going to continue this limited diet for a month, and see how my face reacts. I will also be writing about the supplements I decide to incorporate after feeling out where i am lacking in nutrition based on my body needs. I’m also looking for some plant based protein drinks that I can make for myself. If you have any suggestions please do message me!
