Piazza San Marco in Vegas?! Show me your Venice at The Venetian!
The Venetian, which is on the list of my top favorite hotels, is a fabulous replica of Venice. Even though it is not the same as actually going to Venice, its a great faux version.
From the amazing decorations to the italian singing groups, the Venetian has a lot to offer.
The decor of the hotel is phenomenal! This hotel has recreated the Venice experience for their guests all the way from the lobby to their shops. You cannot help it but look up at the ceilings covered in historical paintings and gold. The hotel has conveyed the Italian experience perfectly!
From the designer stores to the decor of the canals, you can explore a miniaturized version of Venice in Vegas. Having the chance to have visited Venice, I would have to say it is a great replica suited for Americans. This is one of my favorite places to go shopping from the cannoli at The Cake Boss' bakery to the one of a kind dress shops!
Their "character" employees whom are hired to walk around singing, playing the accordion, or merely dressed in old venetian attire add to the hotel's atmosphere. They really add to the overall atmosphere the hotel is trying to convey. When you are outside of the hotel or inside the canal shoppes, you will see Gondolas with their singing rowers. Also, inside their shops, they have various singers and characters roaming through the canals. It even has a miniature version of St. Marks Square.
