Veins Like Scripture // Field of Flames
Autumn has brought me another affliction, I sit and stare at the window while I weep. Breaking my promise, I make myself vomit; with words from the wrist, I watch myself bleed.
The caution I felt when I caught myself falling, I let myself think it was time well spent. I welcome the quiet, but just for a while; maybe it's true, I don't do well with enduring silence.
And maybe I'm right in thinking that it's all a reckoning. So I lie without a sound, waiting for the bitter end to come and take what's left of my bones; words falling from the veins in my wrist to the page like scripture. One foot in the grave, falling further.
