Then there's Dark Meta Knight. Who gets exactly one (1) magnet.

Lamenting the fact that we live in this universe and not an alternate one where Tetra from The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker has the same sense of agency throughout the whole game instead of just the first act.

One where she does not sit dazed and obedient in the bones of a drowned kingdom, waiting for a hero to save the day for her and restore an old order than caused so much strife and conflict to begin with. One where she actually stands her ground as she's done before, challenges the king who calls her a different name, maybe even denies the dead legacy forced upon her, for she is not a princess made to listen and pray and hope - she is a leader of pirates, as strong and brave as she is wise and cunning, who gets stuff done.

One where, perhaps, she could have a short gameplay segment of her own. One where she escapes her new gilded cage (not unlike how Link escaped the Fortress, for instance) and explores the castle frozen in time, maybe even learning more of the history she's been entangled in, the good and the bad. One where, when Ganondorf's forces invade to find her, she fights back, ripping away the dragging hem of her new dress to run and dodge and kick more easily, using the heels of her new shoes as makeshift daggers until she can knock an enemy's glaive out of their hands, so that - when the old Demon King does inevitably overpower her - at least she will have proven that she is more than just Zelda.

Saw myself in the mirror today. Hair tucked in my hat, dressed in my favorite enby shirt and a new comfy flannel I got from a thrift store. I saw myself and... I smiled. Genuinely smiled, for what feels like the first time in an eternity.

It's so wild. I'm finally starting to look like me. 💛✨
