happy birthday Club Penguin!
:3
so I was playing club penguin journey, and uhm. I encountered lobie5!? One of my biggest inspirations? Whose style has influenced not only my own artistic works, but the other medias I enjoy that have similar artsyles? What?
They even sent this postcard to me after! Honestly, my mind was so blown lmao.
GGS TEAM PAST!!!
Look at my cringefail ocs as teenagers. I love them so much.
here’s some old drawings that I feel represent my current mental state (it’s over exaggerated btw I don’t really care that much about my yt since I never posted or anything)
Oh yeah this is my oc! I made them during Pizzatober and I love them so much I fucking stopped everything I was working on and only drew them. I even made them my Halloween costume AFTER I started on my pizzahead one lmao
silly Halloween mask:
They are a vejigante, which are basically clowns that you dress up as during carnival time in Puerto Rico. (This is a shit explanation just do your own research I don’t want to info dump right now). I learned what a vejigante was during my trip to visit relatives and after a bit of research I fell in love with the whole thing! (My mask, despite being made in the traditional manner via paper mache, is very simplified, and normal vejigantes commonly have more animalistic features. (And they also look much better than that!) I didn’t exactly follow the book when I made my creature!)
(I also have never used paper mache before lmao. Still proud of myself!)
Omg I didn't know batcat was doing so bad on the comics, I had been away for so long and now that I have this bitter situation with mcu I come to know what is going on with batcat on comics :(((( but well at least we have baby batcat on Gotham... I think.
Yeah things have not been good since the reboot. It seems as if DC didn’t really know what to do with them at first, they definitely didn’t want them together but it’s a popular ship so they couldn’t just get rid of them either, so there was a lot of flip flopping in the beginning before batcat finally flatlined in the past year or so. It’s not just Batman and Catwoman: every single popular ship has been destroyed and honestly I’m just as appalled with what DC has done to Lois Lane as I am with what they’ve done to batcat.
I don’t really get what DC Comics is trying to accomplish anymore. If it’s to make money they’re failing spectacularly. I think about how shocking it must be for new/returning comic book readers to see what’s happening with the DC characters these days. Most people get into comic books because their interest is piqued by alternate forms of media which most of the time sticks close to the classic source material. Catwoman is featured in every Batman franchise, romantically since the 1960s and Superman always has a Lois Lane. This formula is working out fine for Gotham and the long running Smallville. People who want to get into comics today because of that only to find out there is no BatCat, Lois Lane is being demonized, and most DC hereos are unrecognizable as characters I would think it would put a lot of people off to reading DC.
While things have not been good it wasn’t all bad (just overwhelmingly bad). We did get a few great moments from Earth-2 but Gotham is how I’m primarily getting my batcat fix these days.
