Today, however, there were two new servant girls tending to the boy, and they were panicking just as much - if not more - than Hamra and the baby himself. The noise - the noise was killing him. He had to step in.

Turns out, asking for "the first thing you see when you get home" isn't a smart alternative to the traditional "that what you have but do not know," as now he finds himself bound to the man's daughter, Eloise, by destiny.
