The road to being comfortable with what you present in public is long and arduous. Even showing it to the public via the internet is courageous, and you're owning it like a boss.
thank you so much for this. this was actually really encouraging.

hey guys i hate to burst your funbubble but HOENN...
nO I HEARD ABOUT IT THAT'S GREAT
Prejudice against a group that isn't oppressed (i.e. white people) can and does exist, and is unfortunate and bad. But it isn't a systemic issue, which prevents it from being actual racism. I'd encourage you to check out Sara Luckey's article on defining (and debunking) reverse racism or Aamer Rahman's humorous (and accurate) take on what makes prejudice and systemic racism different from one another.
I'll look into Sara Luckey's article in a bit when I finish up this thing that is ultimately due tomorrow for a client (FUCK WHAT AM I DOING).
Aamer Rahman's skit on Reverse Racism was really interesting and spot on, though. According to the Merriam-Webster definition, the prejudice WOULD count as racism. According to all else that has been argued throughout the years, it remains a prejudice that is, as you said, unfortunate and bad.
The fact that this must stem from something not everybody is completely aware about, however, and what has been carved into stone thanks to years of history despite how it should not follow on to this generation especially if they are not involved, is the most unfortunate part about all of this in the end.
GET SOME.
(also technically 2/3 of this is Tumblr West instead of Reddit West BUT IGNORE THAT FOR A SECOND AS YOU ABSORB IN THE COOLNESS FACTOR)
