I miss the Old Guard, no, not the movie, I mean the people. I miss Marie Likes to Draw, BroHarry, Abundantlyqueer, Velvetmace, the original creatives who imho created some of the most iconic fic and art from the Sherlock universe. I know there were others but these folks are my personal icons, the people who created things I personally continue to love. The world turns, and times change, and we get swept along with it. For those still with us, I wish you well. For those who are not, rest in peace.

Rec: This is one of the classic, big-time AUs with amazing world-building, a grand, sweeping plot, and high emotion running on every level. It's full of manipulation, questionable morals, all the twists, and the intersection of the political and the personal crashing together on top of John Watson. There are some uncomfortable parts with very dubious consent, but I thought the themes were well handled and written in a way that there isn't really any black or white. An exciting story that will feed your Johnlock monster while slipping additional food for thought in and giving you something to chew over for a good long time.
