what were you doing?
staring into his eyes, a stupid grin on your face and smiling as the feeling of opia surged throughout you. just how much of a fool did you become around him?
as you held your hands together, eyes twinkling through the moonlight there was a moment of clarity that reached you. smiling once more at the sudden epiphany, this was where you belonged. you were finally home.
overwhelmed by emotions, you couldn’t speak. and yet you one you didn’t need to, the soft look in his eyes told you that. and whether or not you were to have turned around, even the blind would have been able to see the smile he gave you.
so this was love, was it? leaning your head back, silently rejoicing at the knowledge of reciprocating, comforted by even just the look he gave you, this was love? you couldn’t look at him now, turning around as heart surrounded your cheeks. but once again, you didn’t need to. he would always understand.
the unimportant was forgetten here. former stress, the building up of things you couldn’t control, focusing on how slow reality moved, knowing time for things was running out. it didn’t matter here, it didn’t exist. how could you focus on something that could cause you a frown when the light of your life was right in front of you.
he let out a small laugh from besides you. his shoulders slightly shaking as the sounds of delight exit his mouth. your favourite sound, leaving the mouth of the person you’ve always desired.
you’re not sure what he’s laughing at. you build up the strength to look at him, meeting those oh-so-entrancing eyes of his as he counties to lightly chuckle.
‘ my my, who knew such a night could be enjoyed in silence. “ he says. you nod at him, failing to trust yourself with words. you could swear that the light in his eyes were stars, and still doubt the unbelievable fact that they weren’t even when proved wrong.
you laid your head onto his shoulder. he let it rest there tracing words and shapes onto your hand as you continued to lie there. so this was love.
