Working on: Chapter 6
Set in a fantasy world rooted in ancient Rome where society is built on a hierarchy based on virtus, magic coming from the strength of other people. Be one of High Society as a young adult groomed to enter into the prestigious institution aptly named ‘The Academy.’ There is much more than meets the eye, as a rebellion boils beneath the surface, and you hide a secret past that molds your motivations.
Inspired HEAVILY by: The Will of the Many by James Islington and the Red Rising Trilogy by Pierce Brown (pls read these books, they’re amazing)
Shape your character:
Play as male or female, and customize your character’s appearance
Pick one of four archetypes that influence how your character is perceived, and the flavour text surrounding them
Romance, or befriend a cast of characters
Multiple different endings which are influenced by your decisions
Make major choices that impact the story
A vast and complex world
Caesar Maximus [M] [RO]
The heir to a member of the all-powerful triumvirate which dictates society, and fellow classmate in the academy. A well-liked charming young man, loyal to those he cares for, caring, and honour bent on the traditions of High Society.
Seen as the ideal heir, and is seen as the golden boy of what a member of high society should be. Caesar has a desire to do what he believes is right, and bring justice to wrongdoers.
Physical appearance:
Short golden curly hair and eyes, a strong brow of darker blonde. A sculpted face that looks to be carved out of marble, defined jaw and bone structure.
Tall, broad and athletic from years of training, along with perpetually sun-kissed skin
Aurelia Lucius [F] [RO]
The heir to your family’s rivals, a divide which spans back half a century. The daughter of current triumvirate member, who will also attend the academy in the same year as you. Considered distant, mysterious and quiet — much like her father, she does not speak unless she deems it necessary.
With a dislike for the spotlight, and preference for observance, she has a talent for perceiving the truth in people. When she does speak, her words are eloquent and formal, always well said.
Physical Appearance:
Long, wavy blonde hair that is so light it nearly appears white. She also has been blessed with the desired feature of golden eyes, which are complimented by long eyelashes. Her face is elegant, soft, yet with defined high cheekbones and jawline.
Average in height but with a lithe yet strong figure and pale skin
Perception: “Too nice for this world,” but still popular and with good public image for their positive attitude and natural charm
Fatal Flaw: Hubris
The desire to win, to remain desired and adored by others manifests in hubris. This leads to over competitiveness, a saviour complex, and underlying belief that they could do things better than others.
Perception: Irresponsible and reckless, short sighted — but also able to think outside the box and do things no one else can.
Fatal Flaw: Impulsivity
Driven by heart over mind, the fool is putting caution to the wind with their decisions at times. This can lead to many disadvantageous situations for them.
Perception: A more quiet, soft spoken type of person who may often blend into the background. Also seen as being smart, intelligent, and good at communicating, figuring out what people desire.
Fatal Flaw: Hesitation
Always putting caution first, deliberation, and other people’s feelings — this can lead to the hermit neglecting themselves, or not being able to make firm decisions when it matters.
Will this be a standalone?
A: yes, it will be. there will be two parts to the story, but it is all contained as one book.
Will there be more RO’s?
A: not for now, at least. to be honest, coding takes a long time, and adding more would only make each update take longer. i’m trying to ensure that everything in the novel is high quality, and that i can get this done.
How long will chapters take?
A: Depends heavily on length of chapter and my current workload in school + extracurriculars. 2-3 months at most, hopefully every month!
Are you accepting asks/what is allowed?
A: yes, and basically anything. if there’s anything i’m uncomfortable with answering, i likely just won’t answer. so send whatever you want.
How long will the book be?
A: i’ve mapped it out roughly, and it is looking like ~18 chapters.
Hi everyone!! I am excited to share chapter three with you all [largest chapter yet].
You can:
- Finally see what The Academy is like
- Go through a welcoming feast
- Get into your dorm room
- And go through a test...
Please let me know what you think! I tested to make sure there are not any game bugs but there are so many words it is hard to check for every spelling/grammar error. Thanks!
Finally, it's done. I spent the last week or so editing, but if there are any bugs, please let me know! I was really busy the past two weeks, but I managed to get this out. I hope everyone enjoys!

Key points:
Two more trials for your MC to suffer through (though less than before)
she has heard quite a bit about MC. while her father is distant from her, she knows enough: that MC is the family rival’s child. she knows the real backstory as to what happened between the fathers. she was certainly curious about them before they met.
hero MC
upon first meeting them, she immediately sighs. another one of those types. the reputation chasing charmers - another caesar. aurelia doesn’t think they’re terrible. but could be worse.
if MC flirts
aurelia is somewhat flattered internally? though she knows the whole idea is ridiculous. which is why she shuts it down. (but not entirely).
hermit MC
she immediately tries to get a read on them. to decipher what they’re actually thinking. she’s glad MC isn’t the type to talk too much. (tiring in her opinion).
if MC flirts
she’s surprised in some way, didn’t take MC as someone with enough bravery to flirt with someone like her. she’s very self aware of her bluntness.
fool MC
literally immediately clocks MC as an “idiot”. the exact opposite of her picture of reasonable and sensible. she gets a headache already talking to them.
if MC flirts
unsurprising that MC tried. so foolish she is amused on the inside.
emperor MC
it’s rare to meet someone like her at their age. she’s impressed and finds MC to be amiable and capable.
if MC flirts
taken aback, confused, and doesn’t hate it, exactly. she took MC to be reserved. acting foolishly is inevitable, she supposes.
caesar:
also knows of MC. was always mildly curious and interested, so upon meeting them is pleasant surprised. caesar is personable to basically anyone.
and if MC flirts for all, he’s not exactly socially perceptive enough in the romance department to realize. he’s oblivious.
hero MC
he is glad MC thinks alike, and finds them easy to talk to. thinks MC is easy to get along with and not so bad at all.
hermit MC
MC is quieter than he expected, but it’s not such a bad quality. somewhat endearing in a way. he’s not used to it as he normally hangs around those who talk just as much.
emperor MC
definitely finds MC intimidating in some way. reminds him of Aurelia. thinks twice before speaking, but he doesn’t show it.
fool MC
he does think MC is a great joy to have around. decides MC livens things up more than even he does, and is impressed how MC has managed to retain this rebelliousness living in a high society household.
