au where after the betrayal, terry raises taylor with cassandra. he's guilt stricken and emotional, but he remembers the night all of them, the kiddads, promised to help raise the others' kids if anything ever happened to them, and taylor needs a dad. terry and cassandra never fall in love, but their mutual love for nicky gives them some common ground, and they're close friends. taylor grows up not really thinking much of the fact his parents have separate bedrooms, and he knows that terry isnt his biological dad, but hes the closest thing hes ever had, and he loves his dad like crazy

everything runs smoothly, and their little family is very happy. then terry falls in love with veronica, and now taylor has a sister who slams her door and plays her music too loud

I like to think Terry rolls the Die Another Day before he even meets Veronica. He's on the dating scene, they hit it off, but she's unsure about introducing any boyfriends to her daughter until they're serious. Abandonment issues from her father, she explains, and Terry can respect that. They spend months, falling further and further in love, he has a ring picked out when Veronica finally tells him she thinks her daughter might be ready, he says he's okay if she's not. He hated his step-dad a lot at the beginning after all.

He shows up to Veronica's house and who opens the door but the Girl he knows is going to watch him die and his heart plummets, but fate is fate, and he loves Veronica too much now.

Just remembered that a really common trope in media is dead parents, and honestly kudos to dndads s2 for not doing that. I mean one of their parents has to be alive for plot reasons, but all the teens have two parents, one plot relevant and one who… exists. Who calls them when they gallivant to another realm, Who interacts in fights, who drives them places, who gets into relationships. Ya don’t see that often

Favorite part of coming up with designs for characters who in the media (especially podcast) have little to no canon description is if I like the character, I have as much free will as I want with giving them a cool fashion sense and making them hot.
