One of the artworks for Monster Hunter zine, I will post a second work in a few days. In the meantime, enjoy a Cheval ride on Versa Pietru. I've put a lot of work into these works and I'm glad they came out so spectacular.
Versa Pietru & Makili Pietru
I love the details that no one is particularly happy about having to hunt GuArkveld.
In a way, it's similar to Oltura. It's the trolley problem all over again. There is no right answer.
Monster hunter understands something many people don't about our own planet's animals. That they are animals, they are not capable of evil. They are running off instinct.
GuArkveld and Oltura don't destroy things for the fun of it. Their nature is to survive, and it's why they must die.
The same goes for Makili Pietru in a way.
Makili is 'evil' so to speak, but not by its own fault, it's hatred stems from the wrongdoings of humanity, without the hatred and evil in humanity, Makili would not exist, it would exist peacefully as Versa.
It desires to destroy the world not for the fun of it, but because of the evil of the humans that corrupted it, corrupted the bonds that are so sacred to it.
It's hatred is fuelled by the corruption in the humans it's supposed to bring hope to.
