A younger / teenage Bruce, newly captured by Mordor Orc scouts.
Despite leaving from Mordor in his main story, Bruce originally hails from the wild Olog population in southern Greenwood / Mirkwood, hence his anatomical differences (habit of walking on all fours, sharper incisors, claws instead of nails, etc.).
He was captured at a young age, brought to Mordor, and forced into the fighting pits for food.
// Not sure how happy I am with this. Creative bump in the road tonight
The crash was an accident, Vash still gave Nai the codes, Nai was going to, but hesitated at the last second. Something went wrong and they crashed anyway
Vash blamed Nai anyway, even if he insisted he didn't do it. They had a huge argument over it and Vash ran away.
A lot of his childhood goes the same as canon, actually. The main diferences being Nai isnt the bad guy here and just kind did his own thing IG and
Vash can't handle his trauma.
Vash turns 'bad guy' because his psyche just...snaps. Maybe theres a trigger, maybe not, but one day he decides he cant take it, humans dont deserve plants if they cant treat his sisters right. He takes things into his own hands.
So he starts taking them. He never directly harms a human, not unless pushed to, like if they threaten his life, shoot to kill first but;
Neither does he show care or remose to the state he's leaving them in by taking away their Plants. He reasons they'd be without one soon either way, since they're killing her. At least hes saving one life here. The important one. His sister could go on to help another town, one that will treat her better. The people here have proven beyond saving.
And that's another thing. If a town can prove to him they'll respect and look after a plant. He'll leave her there, help her heal if he needs to and keeps tabs on them, ready to take her away if they fail, but he doesn't just take perfectly healthy plants for no reason. He only takes the one already sick, dying from mistreatment.
Vash also quickly started to come across and amass 'followers'. People who saw him as some avenging angel giving out divine punishment. People who saw Vash and the Plants as divine beings, angels, deities even.
He never stopped them from worshiping him, pays little attention to what the cult does in his name to random people, as long as they do what he asks when he asks it of them.
He even has a little fun playing into it, letting himself look the part by presenting his plant nature far closer to the surface, wings and petals on constant display, his markings always visible and pulsing with energy. He wears very little if any clothes, though keeps a habit of using some of the smaller pairs of wings to keep his modesty for the most part.
He's kind in his cruelty. Gentle, even apologetic. He's never cross with the people he takes plants from, just acts sad and disapointed as he dooms them to starve.
Survival of the fittest, he remembers Rem teaching them. How ecosystems could only thrive in harmony. Isn't that all he's doing? Trying to advocate for that symbiotic peace?
Brain go brrrrr, so have some merfolk headcanons I’m getting down.
Mer
Mer exist all over the world in many different varieties.
There are so many different variants that imitate so many different sea creatures that the variety is endless.
Most are carnivorous, but not exclusively.
They can exist in both freshwater and saltwater even amongst the same species.
There are many different species and subspecies of mer all with their own unique needs, behaviours, and environments.
The much rarer mer are more isolated and difficult to come by and they’re considered an endangered species because of how fragile their ecosystems are and how much some depends on them.
While mer most often seek members of the same species to build their groups with, not all mer do.
Some mer are solitary and only seek other mer during the breeding season, typically in the spring though not exclusively.
Said solitary species of mer are the most commonly seen and also most commonly feared due to rumours of humans disappearing in waters where they make their habitats.
However, it is not a rumour.
While it’s not very common, some mer see humans and other species of creatures as resources to use. Some see them as food or as amiable cohabitors and even as breeding partners.
Mer young are called ‘pups’ and need to be taken care of for six months before they are considered mature. When they hatch, their size is dependent on their species as species that lay more eggs per clutch hatch into smaller pups. Regardless, they can grow to incredible size within the six months of their maturity cycle.
Clutches can range from 2 - 20 pups depending on the species.
Mer pups need to be supervised by a parent in that timeframe, otherwise they will not be able to fend for themselves and will likely either starve or become easy prey items.
Most species of mer don’t actually require much more than food and a water basin for them to live in to survive during the first few months, but once they become much larger, they will need more food and a larger habitat.
Androids
CyberLife, along with creating animal androids, have actually also created androids modeled after fantasy creatures.
Including merfolk.
These android merfolk attractions are not very common, but they are designed more to be like the fantasy image of merfolk that’s most often seen in pop culture.
The traditional iridescent vertical fishtails and top half of a human sort of look.
They behave and are programmed to be exactly like the pop-culture fantasy they are modeled after. Thus, they are designed to be alluring and beautiful and enticing.
However, in essence, they are just like any other android. And just like any other android, they too, are susceptible to becoming deviant under the right circumstances.
They are not overly common and are only sought out as attractions by certain organizations such as SeaWorld, infamous for its mistreatment of their orcas. They actually specialize in having animal androids due to said controversy.
Other non aquatic-centric attractions, such as hotels and casinos and other high-end attractions also seek out such androids and have them on display as attractions for shows.
Ichthyocentaurs
If mers were rare and varied all around the world, ichthyocentaurs are even more so.
There is such a wide variety among them, yet even fewer numbers and sightings.
Mostly because the vast majority of them try and stay away from human contact while mers do seek it out purposefully on a semifrequent basis.
Almost all ichthyocentaurs are omnivorous in some capacity, reducing their need to come in contact with humans by a considerable amount.
Unlike mers, ichthyocentaurs are rarely solitary, preferring to move in pods. Not all of them are familially based, but a lone ichthyocentaur is not common.
Ichthyocentaurs seek out mates during the breeding seasons just like mers do.
They typically only produce one foal per mating, though on occasion, twins have been known to be produced from matings. However, the parent(s) can only support one foal. They will often abandon the one they think will have less chance of survival.
Unlike mers, foals take several years to reach adult maturity and the amount depends on the species. It can take between 5 - 20 years depending on the species and even the sex of the individual.
NSFW
Mers
Among many species of mer, though some may vary, females cannot produce their own eggs.
It is actually the males that not only carry the eggs but also fertilize them at the same time thanks to their duel hemipenes. One deposits the eggs inside the female and the other fertilizes them.
However, male mer can and do reproduce with members of other species, even humans. It is not required for the host to be the same member of their species.
Because of this, there have been incidents of humans being pulled from the sea and disappearing. A very common method is for these mer to drown their victims temporarily, drag them to shore, and revive them whilst impregnating them.
Mer males can impregnate male humans as well, but it’s extremely rare as they don’t make good incubators and would likely kill their eggs before they even hatch. If it happens, it’s an extremely desperate last resort. Male humans are more likely to die by being hunted as a prey item.
They always carry eggs, but they are only viable for deposition during the breeding season, otherwise they cannot hatch and will likely die.
Their eggs are very much like fish eggs, essentially being deposited with their own individual wombs that sap nutrients away from the host, making them crave foods such as fish, red meat, and eggs. The more eggs a species typically deposits within a clutch the smaller the eggs are and the smaller the pups are when they hatch.
They can only deposit one clutch at a time and typically have between 15 - 20 clutches that are viable throughout their lives. Some species can have upwards to 40 or even 60 in some.
Once deposited, it can take between a week and two weeks for the young to start hatching. Ordinarily, when among other mer, eggs would simply hatch out into the water. However it’s much more difficult to do if their chosen mate is not a mer or even aquatic at all.
Many humans who emerge from such ordeals simply empty the pups into a lake or body of water, never to be seen again. Unfortunately said pups typically perish within a day or two of being released due to the lack of a proper parental figure to raise them.
Ichthyocentaurs
Unlike mers, ichthyocentaurs do not lay eggs.
They give live birth.
The good thing about this is that most females do not need another member of their own species in order to copulate.
Ichthyocentaurs can successfully mate with humans regardless of the equipment involved.
Their genitalia is more like their centaur part rather than their mer part, so oviposition is not a factor or an issue.
However, this means that male ichthyocentaurs must be very careful with a human mate, as their penises are much bigger and can damage their partners and even potentially kill them in the process.
It’s very rare for a human to survive the birthing process, but even those that do need a very long recovery period and can potentially die afterwards.
Female ichthyotaurs have better luck with human partners.
When it comes to each other, males can be very aggressive during the breeding season, fighting other males in order to copulate with a female and even with her to successfully mount her.
Sometimes the males can even breed the females to death.
Though, very disturbingly, this has no affect on whether the sperm takes and the males will often keep the female’s corpse until the young is born
Alrighty everyone, who wants to learn some things? Because Akira @blxndingin made the mistake of agreeing to listen to me explain something!
Today's topic: How a Divinity of the Concept of Light differs from a Divinity of Light.
For the sake of dash length I will now insert a read more to spare the faint of heart my ramblings. Be forewarned that we're going to be getting a little meta here about the workings of the multiverse, so if you'd rather not know such things, I'll flag that section before and after so you can skip it, or you can ask for a separate summary of this post later.
So! What does Light represent? Obviously, light represents luminance, energy, photons and waves that can carry information.
The Concept of Light is a bit broader. It encompasses not just the literal essence of light, but also Light as a symbol. While luminance is still part of it, Light as a concept also represents Information, Importance, Fortune, the big IS to Void's IS NOT, not unlike the similar relationship between the Creative Concept of Space and the Entropic Concept of Time.
I, am an Entitled Goddess of the Concept of Light, my power is held in the form of a mythic mantle I bear, a role I am to play in my universe and that which The Game ordains I shall create. My specific Title is that of the Knight of Light, She who Wields, Defends, and Exploits the concepts of Light. My specialties, among my concept's domains, are Luminance and Information.
My personal spin on my generalized power set reflects this, in that my divine power amplifies actions that involve the Wielding, Defending, or Exploiting for advantage of Information or Luminance.
For an alternative example, I offer the Standard Pattern Vriska Serket, a Thief of Light, She Who Steals, Hoards, and Flaunts Luminance, Information, Importance and Fortune. More specifically, her personal take on her powers is the use of Information she's stolen to gather more Importance and Fortune, in her case she heavily delves into the Luck Manipulation aspect of the Fortune Domain of the Concept of Light. It's not uncommon to hear a Vriska bragging about how she has all the luck, and typically hearing her do so means she's taken it from you.
[Meta Begins]
What do I mean by Standard Pattern? Well, glad you accidentally asked, Akira! A "Standard Pattern" person is one who follows relatively close to the baseline for their hypothetical multiversal template, the set of traits and features common to them in the majority of universes where they exist. In my universe, and indeed in many universes in the multiverse, these templates sometimes appear in the form of fiction, often with names and details varying based on universe but the major details staying roughly the same. If you've ever read the Inkheart trilogy you'll probably have an idea of what I mean, though it's more along the lines of "the author glimpses the world and writes about it" than it is "the author births the world before it takes on a life of its own" as the book trilogy would prefer to imply.
I, am not from a Standard Pattern Universe. I'm from a Divergent Pattern or "AU" Universe, specifically compared to the Standard Pattern my universe has had several peoples' roles and places in the greater tapestry of the narrative switched around, what is colloquially referred to as a "Swap" Universe. In this instance I fill the "Role" of SP Dave Strider while in the "Position" of SP Dirk Strider.
[Meta Concludes]
If all of that sounds horrendously confusing, congratulations, you're a normal and sane human being. I'm definitely not at least two of those but good luck picking ;)
Anyhow, so we've now established that Light, as in the Concept, is Luminance, Information, Importance, and Fortune, and how my Title relates to it. So let's delve into my *actual* divine portfolio that I claimed the usual way, as a Goddess of Magic. Do note, I'm only a minor goddess, and often not even that, depending on the relative flexibility and power scaling of divine rank of the universe I'm visiting. In most universes where monotheism reigns supreme in the collective consciousness of humanity, the best I can pull is a particularly powerful Saint level divinity. In ones where there's more room for lesser divinities I can pull a demigod or even, very rarely, a minor goddess.
In my home universe, I am effectively limitedly omnipotent due to events I'd prefer not to elaborate on at this time. Maybe later. Suffice it to say that within a fixed range of myself in my home universe I am the metaphysical lynchpin of reality and it means I can bend (but not break!) the rules of it. Breaking the rules is Very Bad. Like "unleash the spawn of dead stars to devour eternity" bad. Like "I don't really want to go through a bunch of bullshit to reboot the universe a second time" bad.
Anywho! Reply with any questions you have and I'll answer them in separate threads because Christ this one did get away from me just as I expected it to.
Commonly the most territorial of the three and are commonly (but not always) the most dominant. They are often bigger and more built then the other classes and go into ruts.
The are seen as the leaders of society, just think male white privilege in america but instead it’s Alpha’s.
They are usually possessive of what they consider theirs and will try to mark them with their scent, even if its a person.
Usually they are the most physically powerfully, that why they can protect what’s theirs. However that doesnt mean you won’t come across a beta or an omega that can overpower an alpha, everyone is different.
Female Alpha’s are rare they are just as powerful as their male counterpart and have the same standing.
Female Alpha’s in my lore do not have dicks, and they can get pregnant it is just alot more difficult for them. But if they had a male. alpha, beta, or omega lover. They could possibly have a child with them. The lowest fertility rate is with a M!alpha/F!Alpha pairing. For F/F they would have to adopt or seek medical help to have a child.
My male alpha’s here will not have Knots either <3
Alpha’s can claim anyone as a mate. No matter what their secondary gender is. Alpha/Beta couples are actually quite common. Having a sane beta to calm down a hot headed Alpha is a blessing.
Alpha’s are known to growl and huff
Very Mellow Alpha’s can be mistaken for and pass as a beta
Alpha’s generally have strong and almost overpowering scents. They usually have a more earthly/nature like scent
Betas
A general term for someone who is between being an Alpha or Omega. They are able to detect scents and are able to scent others, their scents are just more tame and not as strong as an Alpha’s or an Omegas
betas are versatile. They are able to fill in the gaps that are needed in different situations. If a leader is needed and there isn’t one, a beta steps up. If there is no one to do something, betas do it.
Betas can smell everything just the same, but don’t always have a intense reaction.
Betas can go into weaken version heats and ruts, but it all depends on their mate. If their mate is an alpha, they will go into heat. If their mate is an omega, they will have ruts. If their mate is another beta, they will have neither.
They are the peacekeepers so don’t underestimate them. (Beta’s could survive all by them selves if Alpha’s and Omega’s got wiped out. The other two classes can’t say the same. SO smh, beta’s need more love in my opinion.)
Female Beta’s can have children, and Male beta’s can knock up F!alpha’s, betas and omegas. Fertility rates vary and aren’t nearly as high as a male Alpha’s would be
Beta’s don’t really make much sound but if you piss them off too much they might growl or hiss at you.
Some beta’s can be mistaken for an Alpha or an omega depending on what class they lean towards.
Beta’s scents are very calming and relaxing, very good for calming an angered alpha or a distressed omega down. They even help other beta’s if they are upset
Omegas
Commonly the least territorial of the classes and are commonly (but not always) the most submissive. They exhibit heats and a need to nest.
They are generally known for being nurturing and eager to please. They are stereotyped alot so many bold omegas are mistaken for beta’s. Some very dominant Omega’s have been mistaken for and can pass an an alpha or beta
Male Omega’s are pretty rare but they are valued for *being rare* in most cultures
Female Omega’s are the most fertile beings on the planet, Don’t put your dick in them without a condom they will somehow get pregnant if they aren’t on some kind of birth control. Male omega pregnancies are very rare as Male omega only have the one whole so pushing a baby out that way could kill them. They would need a c-section to have a child AND survive child birth.
Many Omega’s are sensitive to smell and can be overwhelmed if their is too much going on
They also need the other company of fellow omega’s to remain emotionally healthy. Even if it’s just a hug or a small chat a day. They should not go too long without the contact and support of another omega. Going over two months without seeing another Omega could make them drop.
Drops are a self-induced coma-like state that an omega puts themselves in when extremely scared, upset, or hurt. It can be life threatening if left alone for too long and usually only a mate or someone very close to the omega can pull them out. It’s like a very bad form of intense depression where you completely disassociate.
Many omega’s don’t work but they make excellent daycare workers, teachers, nannies, and therapist. They can do any sort of job an Alpha and beta can do as well, though this many be frowned upon by some people.
Male omega’s can get females of other classes pregnant. They are still male and their dicks work just fine
They are known to purr and hiss.
Omega scents are usually very sweet and light
Terms that I just think are helpful!
Scenting: Alphas, Omegas, and Betas all give off a very specific sort of scent as a personal marker to their primary and secondary sex. They all have the ability to scent others, which is simply the process of spreading their specific scent on another person or object (often by physically rubbing against them).
Heat: A period of 3-5 days where an Omega-identified individual will experience sexual excitability and have an increase in fertility. This often comes in tandem with a large release of pheromones to communicate the biological shift to others.
Rutting: A period of 3-5 days where an Alpha-identified individual will act more possessive and territorial than normal, but not specifically in need of mating with someone. They are still pretty horny though. Normally, rutting periods are more common after being mated, as part of a biological cycle to protect said mate and have an increase in fertility. This often comes in tandem with a large release of pheromones to communicate the biological shift to others.
Suppressants: Medication given to Alpha or Omega-identifying individuals, specifically to suppress rut or heat cycles. It can also suppress the fertility of the individuals, and is often referred to in conversations about birth-control.
Guarding: is an alpha trait of extreme protectiveness where they can become very volatile and must be approached with EXTREME caution.
Omegadrops: self-induced coma-like state that an omega puts themselves in when extremely scared, upset, or hurt. It can be life threatening if left alone for too long and usually only a mate or someone very close to the omega can pull them out.
Nests: usually a place where an Omega can be comfortable, whether if he is in heat or just having a bad day. It can be a closet or a couch, a small room or a bed. It will usually be filled with soft things, the most smelling like his/her mate if they have one. Most omega feel the urge to make a nest at a young age
•The Seven Magi who created the Barrier never meant for it to stand forever. It was always meant to be destroyed. They hid this knowledge from their fellow humans for a reason.
•They sealed the monsters away in an attempt to save them from extinction. They hoped that one day it would be safe for them to return to the surface.
•There was a lot of careful planning before they were ready to create the Barrier. This would be their final act and they had to be sure that everything would go according to plan.
•Each mage was responsible for a ceartain aspect of the Barrier and methods it would take for the plan to succeed.
•The Red Mage was to make sure that the strength of the spell wouldn’t fade over time.
•The Yellow and Orange Magi were responsible for designing the Barrier’s weak points as well as the method to destroy it.
•The Green and Purple Magi were responsible for making sure that humans could enter through the Barrier unharmed. Otherwise it would be impossible to destroy.
•The Cyan Mage could see the future and knew that magic among humans would diminish to the point where Magi would be in danger of dying out. It was Cyan’s job to make sure that one day Magi would be able to reawaken their powers through any means necessary.
•The Blue Mage assisted Cyan in their efforts by summoning their guardian spirit.
•Blue instructed the spirit to keep a watchful eye on the human race. When the time was right, the Spirit would seek out, protect, and guide a new generation of Magi to their destiny.
•In the end, Cyan and Blue were successful and the Spirit took on the physical form of a black cat with bright, yellow eyes. The Spirit would stay loyal to her master and would work in the shadows to accomplish her purpose.
•Just as the Barrier would require seven human SOULs to break, it would require seven human SOULs to create. The Magi gave their lives for their cause and left behind a prophecy for the Monsters which would later be known as The Delta Rune.
So, because I have some thoughts, here are some casual lore stuff I’ve thought of for the wereverse.
Misanthropy:
Lycanthropes (werewolves) are the most common form of misanthropy.
However, there are actually many forms of misanthropy, such as ursanthropes (werebears), caninthropes (weredogs), felinthropes (werecats), and many other less common misanthropes.
Each variant of misanthropy expresses itself differently in the individual, both due to the individual’s personality and due to the animal reflected in them.
There are three types of misanthropes - born, turned, and cursed - and all three have unique characteristics that define them.
No matter the species, all misanthropes have night vision when they turn.
Naturalborn Misanthropes:
Naturalborn misanthropes can breed with other naturalborn misanthropes.
While the chances of their children carrying misanthropy is increased when they breed, it is not guaranteed and it is possible for the gene to be dormant in their offspring and for them to not be misanthropes.
While misanthropes can breed with other misanthropes, whether or not the genes carry is up to chance. The chance is highest when two of the same variant of misanthropes copulate and lowest when two of different variants copulate. There is a higher chance of the gene carrying between a misanthrope and a human than two misanthropes of different variants.
Naturalborn misanthropes are more like the traditional anthropomorphic depictions that are common in pop culture visually speaking.
They are more in-tune with their animalistic characteristics and they present themselves in their daily lives whether they’re turned or not.
When they are turned, they are aware and conscious and retain their “selves.” They simply behave a bit more like the animal variant that they are without losing their essential personalities and they remain aware of themselves and their surroundings and memories aren’t lost between forms.
Turned Misanthropes:
Turned misanthropes cannot pass on their misanthropy through breeding.
The only way turned misanthropes can pass on their misanthropy is through delivering a bite that gets infected. With swift treatment, a bite from a turned misanthrope will heal and the individual will be fine.
The scar remains permanently if it does not heal properly and the individual is turned.
While some speculate that naturalborn werewolves are the origin of turned misanthropes, this is not the case. It’s unknown where turned misanthropes truly originated.
Unlike their naturalborn counterparts, turned misanthropes maintain a firm separation between their human existences and their animal states.
They do not exhibit any of their respective animalistic characteristics while they’re human under any capacity.
Once they turn, they hold no memory of their human life and behave exactly as their animal form would behave in the circumstance that they would shift. The same also happens once they shift back. They have no recollection of their experiences while they were shifted. The only thing that they know once they shift back is that they transformed. But that is the only memory they have.
Unlike their naturalborn counterparts, turned misanthropes appear while shifted just as ordinarily as their animal form. There is nothing particularly defining about their animal forms. A turned lycanthrope will appear as an ordinary wolf when shifted and will behave no differently than a real wild wolf.
Cursed Misanthropes:
Cursed misanthropes are interesting creatures.
They are not bitten, thus they are not “afflicted.” They cannot pass on their misanthropy under any circumstances, whether by infection or by breeding, despite their instincts driving them to breed.
They are a strange amalgamation of traits associated with both turned and naturalborn misanthropes while exhibiting their own unique characteristics.
Like naturalborn misanthropes, cursed misanthropes exhibit animalistic traits associated with their animal counterparts. Some may even exhibit subtle physical characteristic associated with their specific animal form.
But more like turned misanthropes, there is a degree of separation between their human form and their shifted form. They remember nothing either from their human form while shifted or from their shifted form while human.
However, unlike turned misanthropes, cursed misanthropes are not even aware of the shift at all. As far as they can tell, it’s either a bad dream or a simple sleep disorder.
Their shifted form is more like turned misanthropes, where they appear to be just a bigger version of their specific animal. However, unlike turned misanthropes, the longer they remain cursed, the more monstrous their shifted forms become. And depending on the nature of the curse, other qualifications may be met to accelerate the curse.
On a long enough timeframe, the curse may affect their human form, as well. Behaviorally, they may start behaving more like their cursed animal form. And after a long enough time, if the curse is not lifted, they may remain permanently trapped in their shifted form until they die and the curse can never be lifted. Once the curse has progressed fully, they cannot die of natural causes. They can only be killed.
Depending on the nature of the curse, it can drive their shifted form to do many unsavoury things. The most common of these is simply bloodlust, a need to maim, feed, destroy, and even mate. A specific target of their tendencies, such as humans, may also be specifically defined.
The curse can be lifted, but it is difficult as the terms and conditions of the curse are not made privy to the unfortunate victim and unless someone is willing to help them try to reverse engineer how the curse works and what can be done to lift it based on the effect it has on the individual, it’s unlikely that the individual will ever be aware enough of it before they either completely succumb to it or are killed.
It’s unknown where these curses originate from. Some speculate vengeful witches or spellcasters. Some believe it originates from the individual messing with spiritual or otherworldly places and objects they shouldn’t have, like a fae circle. But regardless, individuals never know that they’re cursed until it’s too late.
Thankfully, cursed misanthropes are extremely rare.
While naturalborn and turned misanthropes can both be killed like any other creature, a cursed misanthrope can only die by using silver once the curse has completely progressed.
// I think for our verse, when Blitz and Moxxie first broke out of jail, and Moxxie decided not to go back to Greed, the two had to work various odd jobs before they were able to work up to setting up what would become I.M.P. This means for a while, Moxxie was sort of helping Blitz support Loona at one point. Which does make them even more like a found family.
