@firejugglinghobo felt comedically like a moth today.
Pipes that ran so deep beneath the dirt, they would freeze if they hadn't been made of metal from Muspelheimr, lined the walls of the crall space Hel easily slipped out of. The sounds coming up through them were like a wretched, broken, whimpering scream. A mangled roar.
"I know." Hel replied, loudly into a funnel shaped protrusion, "I'll return soon. I promise." She added, just as she fully backed out of the small nook, tucked discreetly in an innocuous shadow of hallway.
"It's not polite to eavesdrop," The goddess said next. She couldn't see him with her back turned but she could feel the weight of his curious gaze. And the warmth that radiated from his soul. "If the sounds alarmed you.." She turned to him then, "I apologise. They are nothing of concern."
