Clio knew her people suffered, so she did with them, as well. It was said to her by a healer whom delved deep into the dark side of magic that the woman was cursed right after Clio gave birth to a stillborn. But no one really gave her any answers on how to deal with it, how to make it all go away, the following death of her husband only pushed her more into the abyss of madness. The platinum blonde woman was getting upset with the knowledge of it, having to live with it, and things deeply affected those around her. She started looking for answers everywhere, did some questionable things to try and find an answer, or a solution. But everywhere she went, everything she did, brought her to a dead end.
The only answer she got which required her to wait was that the answer will be shown to her, she’ll see in some form and go look for it. It was very vague, Clio couldn’t know what the person was talking about, so she kept on looking, until one day she had a dream about it. The Craigh na Dun. With a small group of people leaving to find the said place which wasn’t on any of the known maps, her search was long, exhausting, even lost one of the guards along the way. But then she found it, while they rested on the camp site; she could almost hear something in the air calling out for her, so Clio got up and let it guide her. Finding the stone structure, she felt anxious, confused, as to what kind of answer it was supposed to give her.
And then, it happened. The weather changed, it got so dark and windy, and as Clio tried to leave the circle of stones and go back to camp, something wasn’t letting her. There was a scream, everything turned white all of the sudden, blinding her, what followed was hard for her to describe. It was like she was stuck, somewhere in between, just floating. She could see so much, things that were hard to explain, and then it all went black. Clio woke up in the same place, on the grass, but the grass wasn’t as green as it was when she came here. And it was colder, a lot more so as goosebumps covered her pale arms, Clio had nothing but a dark blue dress on her body.
Gathering herself up, Clio looked around herself and ran back towards the camp. Only that she couldn’t find one there. Was she lost? No, this was where they stayed and now they were gone... how long was she out for? She shouted the names of the guards she was here before, the right hand of hers as well, but there was no answer. Panic was settling in and she continued walking, maybe they were looking for her as well? She went on until Clio heard horses in the distance, her first instinct being to hide. The men she saw riding them she didn’t recognize, the clothes they had on was odd, to say at least. It looked like they were looking for someone, and Clio kept low, her hands freezing cold but she was willing herself to stay calm and focus, she had to stay sane if she wanted to find her people.
