“Oh, I don’t deserve all of the credit. You have spent just as much time and energy ensuring that our acquaintance feel freshly strained.”
Loki had not been the worst partner she had ever ventured into the field with, but he had been far from a Pollyanna to work alongside. And his efforts on behalf of the Auror Office had paid off- it appeared as though he had been given free reign of his lunch hour.
“They say it’s bad for your digestion if you stand while you eat.” If they god was even amusing himself with a lunch, she could not see- he was just enough to her periphery. “You can sit if you’d like. I’m not contagious, I promise.”
“I do pride myself on ensuring that you never grow too comfortable around me.” Loki glanced over his shoulder to shoot the redhead a thin humourless smile before turning his attention back to the window.
He wasn’t sure why he bothered with the barbed comments when it came to Ivy; They never seemed to have quite the effect he wanted and when it came to her colleagues, he spoke only as much as was necessary for his work.
Perhaps it was something about the way she seemed so determined to speak with him, despite them not getting on and no longer working together, that irked him in just the right way that he couldn’t resist snapping at her.
"I am not eating, and even if I were, you know nothing of my physiology or what may be good or bad for me. I was attempting to think before you arrived.”
