Mitsuru Kirijo in P5X
(last updated 2/19/26!)
Mitsuru Kirijo is primarily present as a Phantom Idol, or cognitive teammate. She has not yet made any appearance in the main story.
Mitsuru’s first appearance in the P3RE Collab is in Chapter 4, where the group happens upon her and Shun Kano as the two are struggling against a difficult floor guardian shadow. After the fight, she explains that when she was separated from the rest of SEES, she ended up alone, but was following a shadow and quickly found Shun. The two had been working together since then.
After that, she and Shun join the rest of the group, and they continue through Tartarus until a door takes them to the Iwatodai Strip Mall. When Shun starts acting strangely, Mitsuru helps them organize a plan to wake him up, ultimately culminating in everyone making ramen for him. Afterward, they have to fight the shadow that did this to him, and Mitsuru and Akihiko chase after it until it flees.
In Mitsuru’s Dream Chapters (bonus events the player can unlock), she and Nagisa are transported to various locations around Tokyo and Tatsumi Port Island. Her final three Dream Chapters, which require special items to unlock but have a bit more to them, are:
How to Relax (unlocked by reaching the 5th floor of Tartarus: Eternal Night with Mitsuru on your team): Wonder gets a competitive épée, which reminds him of someone else he knows who fences. He and Mitsuru are transported to a school gym, where they run into Seiji Shiratori, who laments that none of his fencing club takes practice as seriously as he does, and he and Mitsuru discuss their struggles with moderation. Afterward, they spar.
Practical Decor (unlocked by reaching the 10th floor of Tartarus: Eternal Night with Mitsuru on your team): Wonder gets a set of jeweled false nails, which makes Mitsuru think of the ones she wears when dressing up for fancy events. He and Mitsuru are transported to the Shibuya Underground Mall, where they run into Yumi Shiina, who’s on her way to a nail salon. They discuss practical manicures that can help reinforce one's nails, before they all (including Wonder) go get their nails done together.
Contemplative Art (unlocked by reaching the 15th floor of Tartarus: Eternal Night with Mitsuru on your team): Wonder gets a dogū figurine, which leads Mitsuru to mention her interest in historical art. He and Mitsuru are transported to the art museum in Ueno, where they run into Haruna Nishimori, who is also visiting, and has her own unique way of looking at art. As Mitsuru remarks on how both she and Haruna have particular ways of interpreting art, Kira Kitazato arrives, and reveals he also has a different approach to art. Mitsuru suggests they all tour the museum together and discuss their perspectives, to give everyone a broader understanding of the pieces on display.
Mitsuru can also be encountered in the cognitive Paulownia Mall, in her casual outfit, and interacted with there.
Mitsuru’s Persona Penthesilea is categorized as an Ice type, and resists Ice while being weak to Fire.
Penthesilea is an Assassin Persona, meaning she’s good at targeting single enemies, and her trait gives an enemy one "Frostbite" whenever Mitsuru deals damage to them using a Persona skill or Theurgy (lasts two rounds, stacks up to 5). When Mitsuru attacks a target with Frostbite, she gains an attack stat buff equal to 7 times the number of Frostbite the target has.
Her first ice attack skill hits one enemy, gives them three Frostbite, then reduces their defense for two rounds (based on Mitsuru's attack stat and the number of Frostbite they currently have). Her status skill inflicts "Queen's Gaze" upon an enemy, which reduces their defense and increases their damage taken based on Mitsuru's attack stat, but does not consume Mitsuru's turn or count as a Persona skill (Queen's Gaze is permanent, can only be inflicted upon one enemy at a time, and when the inflicted enemy dies, Queen's Gaze transfers itself and any other statuses inflicted by Mitsuru onto the remaining enemy with the highest HP). Her second ice attack skill buffs the stats of all allies, then hits one enemy, dealing extra damage for every stack of Frostbite the enemy has, and also buffing the attack's critical rate if it has 5 stacks.
Her passive skills reduce the navigator's skill cooldown at the start of combat, and buff the damage dealt by Assassin and Sweeper teammates to targets with Frostbite (based on the number of stacks they have).
As in P3RE, her melee weapon is a rapier. However, as the members of SEES don’t have ranged weapons, she instead has an ability called an “Aid Skill” that can be used once per battle at any time, and doesn’t use up her turn. Mitsuru’s Aid Skill inflicts one enemy with "Energy Beacon" for two rounds (the first time a SEES member attacks a target with Energy Beacon, they gain 35 Theurgy points; when a non-SEES member does, they gain 15% Highlight energy instead). Her Theurgy, Blizzard Edge, can be seen in this video from 4:11 - 4:27, and it requires 70 points in her Theurgy Gauge to use; it hits one enemy with an ice attack, then converts its Frostbite stacks into "Frostbound" for two rounds. When Frostbite is upgraded to Frostbound, allies can hit that target with Persona skills to trigger Mitsuru's "Cold-Blooded Blade" effect. Cold-Blooded Blade deals an extra hit, with its damage based on the number of stacks of Frostbound that the target has, and otherwise uses Mitsuru's stats.
Her recommended card sets are 1) 9 of Swords (Cruelty) + Knight of Cups (Integrity), 2) 4 of Swords (Reconciliation) + Prince of Wands (Creation).
The game recommends teaming her up with 1) Colorful Bui, 2) the Persona 3 protagonist.
Here's the pieces for Mitsuru's All Out Attack finishing touch, as well!
And here's the full Version 4.6.1 trailer! New information about this version:
Synopsis for this chapter, "Winter's Frozen Blade": "Why are all the Phantom Thieves in this strange world? Who is the fourth member of Makoto Yuki's group? Though their strength is gradually returning, and their understanding of the situation deepened, they still failed to solve the mystery, only finding more questions arise. Fortunately, they were reunited with another teammate, a veteran who knows Tartarus intimately. Yukari and the others expressed their trust in and reliance on her. The mysterious blue door lingers, still intent on guiding them. In the Iwatodai Strip Mall, more clues were exposed… Why were they trapped here, and how were they guided along the way? Regardless, a satisfied look shouldn't be a reason to accept false desires. This time, I will definitely protect my teammates' pride and memories!"
Mitsuru is an Ice/Assassin teammate
New features added to Tartarus: new antiques, new "Moonlight Bond" system which allows you to strengthen your bond with SEES members to strengthen them as teammates, new block of Tartarus, some kind of change to how Shuffle Time lets you pick teammates I believe?, and a new type of floor called a "Hunter" floor which seems to be where the Reaper appears and hunts you down
Arcana Emperor is the boss fight this time, and the official post hints that there's a reason why only Arcana Emperor appeared, rather than appearing with Arcana Empress
