I was wondering How do devs separate version from version of their game?(ie. what diffidence betwee 0.001 , 0.001a and 0.01?)

Uh something like this (correct me if I’m wrong!):

0.001 basically a demo in Yume Nikki fangame circles, but a really, REALLY incomplete game for everything else

0.001a - a patch of the previous tier, updated with bugfixes.  In Yume 2kki, it could also contain an extra map or 3.

0.01 - Still basically a small part of the game in normal game stuff.  For Yume Nikki fangames, this could also mean the game is complete.  The original Yume Nikki is in a perpetual state of 0.010, so when you get there, the game could already have all it’s ending, effects, and worlds implemented in like the original game.

1.0 - complete, just released.

1.1 - an update of the complete game, this time with a few bug fixes not found on release.

2.0 - complete & completely updated with a good amount of new content.

I could be wrong though.  But it’s something along those lines.
