An Interesting Encounter | Chase and Claire
“Those cupcakes done yet?” Chase’s boss yelled from the front as he’s talking to a customer. “Yeah yeah, just a minute; they’re almost done!“ Chase was just putting on the finishing touches to his batch of raspberry cupcakes, they sell fast and they take just the right amount of precision to get them perfectly presentable. Raspberry and chocolate flavored frosting in a spiral at the top, with a chocolate and vanilla base also with raspberries baked into it.
“Just finished, I’ll head over in a sec.” Chase had replied again to his boss and his waiting customer. He picked up the sheet of cupcakes and carried them over to the front, his shift was almost over and he just wanted to head back to his dorm.
To Chase’s surprise, he saw a familiar face, and that face happened to be someone who passes by him every day in the hall. All Chase managed to get out was a “Ohhhh, hi?” he doesn’t usually talk to other people other than his teachers or his boss, so this was kind of new for him.
