i find gai, lee, and metal’s speech patterns very...important?
gai is respectful but boisterious; he isn’t nearly as formal as lee can get but he usually uses honorifics unless someone asks him not to, or he considers the person like family. lee and metal are very similar, but lee uses honorifics with everyone unless someone specifically asks him not to. like neji and tenten.
gai will use contractions in his speech while lee and metal don’t, but gai uses bigger words and more vivid descriptors while lee and metal don’t have the same vocabulary.
both gai and lee are confident when they speak, while metal’s voice doesn’t carry as much. this is, of course, thanks to his anxiety but also signifying he’s still trying to find his own “voice” in the legacy of two great men.
