Asking for prayers for my grandpa and my immediate family. He's nearing end of life, and because of his specific ailments, it could be tomorrow, or it could be a few months from now. But without getting into details, him and his son are on pretty bad terms. So we'd love to see them talk (civilly) and try to move past their differences now, while my grandpa is still fairly lucid. I've been hearing that my uncle might finally try. Please pray that this happens.

And please pray that we can take care of my grandpa well, and that we can convince him to see a priest in the near future.

I'm having deep conversations with myself about the ethical implications of Hua Yong changing Sheng Shaoyou's body structure without his consent.

I'm having thoughts about Gao Tu's internalized hatred for himself that began with his mom and has only exploded under Shen Wenlang.

I'm having anxiety any time I think that Omegaverse is just a caste system that reiterates a lot of oppressive structures we see in colonial societies hiding under the guise of kink.

So I'm having a lot of things happening to me while I'm watching this, but is fun one of them?

I don't think the show is supposed to be *that deep* but the posts people are creating about the show are making this an interesting watch because it has me questioning if this is even a gay show?

Like, I know it's gay because everyone is a guy, but are the characters gay? I read three posts that said in the novel version, guys fucking guys isn't gay because Omegaverse doesn't categorize homosexuality the same way. Alphas, Omegas, Betas, and Enigmas are all different, so the only way to be considered homo is by being with the same level, like Alpha x Alpha, which is why Sheng Shaoyou was so disgusted by the idea that Shen Wenlang had a crush on him.

But also, what is considered rape in this world? I'm not bothered by anything that happened in the ninth episode because this show clearly stated what is was from the beginning, but I am invested in the thought of it all.

The world has workplace protections and an entire healthcare system built around this, but a hierarchy exists. Those who can get others pregnant are at the top, those who can get pregnant are lower to the bottom, and those who can't get pregnant are at the bottom. Removing what this might say about real-life societies, what does it mean in this fictional world when those at the top who can get others pregnant can never be held accountable for their sex drive against the lower tiers because "it's just part of their nature"?

That feels familiar, no?

Once again, this isn't a blemish on the show. I'm curious because Barbie in Pit Babe was an Alpha who could get pregnant which lead to manipulation from Enigmas, so is this abusive aspect just part of Omegaverse, but not seen as abusive? Or as one commenter offered me, is it dealer's choice?

And what does it say that the ability to get others pregnant gives people power in this universe?

Or that when Alphas use their pheromones, they are seen as a threat, but when Omegas are sensed, they are deemed disgusting. One is more acceptable in public than the other.

Because of all of this, I turned to my favorite place — the library! Which, unsurprisingly, has a lot of academics energetically exploring and arguing if Omegaverse is fucking with gender and ushering in new perspectives on sexuality or if it simply reinforcing cis-hetero (and therefore monogamous) structures.

Oh, and I didn't even mention how the show is not portraying Hua Yong as a villain, which is amazing to me!

So yeah. I'm watching the show thanks to your ask, and now I'm questioning everything in a way I never did with Pit Babe, so I'm thinking I should have muted this show too and watched it with no subs because my brain is thinking too much for me to be having fun.

But if these two start knowingly fucking each other, I will be having tons of fun.

But at this point, I don't know which I'm going to get first since both are taking forever: them or Transplant.
