During Sonic and Knuckles's argument over using the Master Emerald, aka the start of Sonic's emotional spiral, I love how well they animated Sonic's expression.

It's dominantly anger, but in this specific moment, you can see how broken he is. How close he is to tears, even amidst his anger.
