I don't feel comfortable anywhere else so.. VeXpo appreciation post? (Basically this is my unknown little corner of internet where I can just yap away my thoughts lol)

Setting aside the poor management and the amount of queueing we had to do & lack of accessible lines (thank god I sat on the floor often otherwise pain would have been unbearable lol) VeXpo was actually amazing! The Opening concert made me discover great voices & Vtubers, I'm really interested in check out V4MIRAI, especially REM, once I have some time :) And of course hearing Matara was what I was looking for the most in that concert!! Her singing has improved so much and she only sang bangers the entire time 🩷

On the Saturday I had a lovely time cosplaying as U-san! People were so lovely and I met many fellow U-reis and we could nerd out about U-san together!! It was also shopping day so I went around the artist alley to get some stuff, including an adorable sleepy Matara plushie :) In the late afternoon I had my Meet&Greet with Matara and I was fifth in line. It was a crazy experience, she was so lovely and I can't believe I actually got the opportunity to meet one of my oshis, even get a picture and a signed card!! Really impressed by the penplotter technology I hope it becomes more common :) Right after we came accross Merry who spotted me as U-san and wanted a picture. Insane meeting I've got to say, I've been following Merry's stories since I was 16-17, before vtubers and stuff.. He was so nice and fistbumped us twice?? Wild, I'm still not over it.

Saturday evening we had the Idol Arnachy concert which was also an insane experience. The 4 singers were not only talented but just genuiely impressive to listen to. And of course I got to see & hear U-san sing on the big stage.. Phenomenal!! I had such a good time it feels surreal. We had to leave before the end of the last performer's act to catch the last train back to the hotel but it was a great time nonetheless!!

Sunday was rough, we were exhausted & our cosplays were difficult to wear. Aia I love you but your cosplay drives me insane 😭 The NijiEN panel got delayed by 45min but it was a very fun panel actually, teaching Zen, Meloco british slang ;) It did make the Matara & Geega panel late though so I wasn't able to catch all of it but hears most of their yapping so it was good. Had to leave to get food & do more queueing to get my penplotter card..

Despite feeling terrible we did make it to the Nijisanji meet up and everyone was so kind! I met some lovely people and some of them were giving out freebies which I thought was so lovely. We only stayed around 15-20min to the meet but I'm happy I got to chat to so many different people and got many compliment on my Aia cosplay ;)

It was an exhausting weekend, the con itself was very small and I felt like the artist alley could have been expanded. You went around con very quickly, delays & queueing wait made it so you couldn't really a lot or it was easy to miss stuff you wanted to do. However the panel diversity, the main stage events, the M&G and the concert really make up for it and elevate the experience so no regrets in attending! I'm looking forward to see an improved VeXpo next year :)
