personally i think it is awesome how V slowly becoming johnny is disguised in the game. especially because it’s not malicious on either side. those two are just very intimate with one another. it’s only natural that johnny wants V to have his jacket, his gun, his deepest secrets. and V wants to take those things from him. out of respect and, dare i say, devotion. after all the whole engram thing is just a fantastic analogy about how you act when you’re in love with a person. it can be a beautiful experience for those involved but also terrifying. sharing your mind and your body, constantly thinking about their safety, or what you’d do when if lost them. sometimes veering into codependency. often veering into codependency. while paradoxically trying to fight for your own identity. not to mention your friends feeling happy for you, really, but also a little perturbed about you both being attached at the hip. seeing how you rub off on each other. how that you’ve merged music tastes and bad habits. and how you talk like him now, and that’s kinda… peculiar. but hey. you seem happy. so everyone can deal with your weirdo boyfriend if he helped you during your roughest times, right?
