Do you have some game OSTs that you really like?
Oh, too many! What a wonderful question, though.
Transistor: Beautiful, moody, sort of Noir-ish almost, interspersed with beautiful vocals. Personal favourites: Old Friends & Coasting
Pyre: The same devs of Transistor also made the wonderful Pyre, which conincidentally also has the most gorgeous soundtrack. Personal favourites: Vagrant Song & Will of the Scribes
Dishonored 1 & Dishonored 2: It’s only fitting that one of the most atmospheric game series also has one of the most atmospheric soundtracks. Dark, eerie, sometimes threatening, but always beautiful, using a wide array of intruments. Daniel Licht was a master of his craft. Personal favourites: Delilah’s Theme & Brigmore Lullaby
Dragon Age 3 & Trespasser DLC: I always thought the soundtracks of the Dragon Age series were lacking and then DA3 came along. Trevor Morris did an amazing job. As cinematic and bombastic as the game. Personal favourites: In Hushes Whispers & We Fight On
Mass Effect 1: My favourite of the series also has the best soundtrack. It’s the perfect soundtrack for the sometimes dark, sometimes light, but always hopeful space opera that it was. Personal favourites: Vigil & From The Wreckage & M4 Part II
The Witcher 3: Gorgeous soundtrack that really helped to make an already wonderfully detailed world come to life. There’s an interesting folkloric aspect to it as well. Personal favourites: The Fields of Ard Skellige & Versus Caranthir & Silver For Monsters & Lullaby of Woe
The Wolf Among Us: Again, very atmospheric, very Noir-ish, but modern. I always find myself coming back to it. Personal favourites: Bigby’s Apartment & Prince Lawrence’s Home & Main Theme
Oxenfree: As quirky and different as the game, the different sometimes borders on psychedelic and trippy. Personal favourites: Cold Comfort & The Beach 7AM & Dead Light
Kentucky Route Zero: Speaking of psychedlic and trippy.Personal favourites: Too Late To Love You
Detroit: Become Human: I loved the idea of different soundtracks for the different main characters. My favourites were Connor’s and Kara’s soundtrack. Connor’s is quite Blade Runner-esque, while Kara’s has lovely orchestral pieces. Personal favourites: Hostage & Interrogation & Kara’s Theme & Dark Night
L.A. Noire: If you do enjoy Old Hollywood and Film Noir, you will adore this soundtrack.Personal favourites: Main Theme & (I Always Kill) The Things I Love
Pillars of Eternity 1 & Pillars of Eternity 2: Beautifully rich tracks that make an isometric world come alive just as much as the writing does. Also, the sea shanties of Deadfire? I love them all. Personal favourites: Twin Elms & Characters Creation
Arcanum: It’s an old Steampunk RPG in the spirit of Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale, and the soundtrack is absolutely fantastic. Violins, cello, gorgeous. Personal favourites: Arcanum & In Memoriam
The Order: 1886: Another Steampunk game, this time with Nikola Tesla. Again, with an amazing, very moody soundtrack.Personal favourites: The Knights’ Theme & Agamemnon
The Last of Us: Gustavo Santaolalla created the perfect soundtrack for this post-apocalyptic story. The guitar pieces in particular are beautiful. It’s also worth checking out the music of the Left Behind DLC.Personal favourites: The Choice & The Hour
Unravel: A charming game with an even more charming soundtrack. Again very much folklore, fitting the setting and mood of the game. Personal favourites: Berry Mire & Yarny’s Theme
Bloodborne: If you like choirs, orchestras and are in the mood for something very Dramatique™ and Lovecraftian, look no further.Personal favourites: The First Hunter & Lady Maria Of The Astral Clocktower & Laurence The First Vicar
Journey: Possibly a classic at this point. Very soothing, especially after a stressful day.Personal favourites: Nascence & Apotheosis & I Was Born For This
What Remains of Edith Finch: A walking simulator with a wonderful story and gorgeous piano pieces for a soundtrack. Personal favourites: Milton’s Tower & Edith’s Theme
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter: Another walking simulator with fantastic music to fit the gorgeous scenery.Personal favourites: Ethan’s Theme & The Valley of the Blinding Mist
I tried to keep it short and as you can see: I failed. And I probably only mentioned half of the video game soundtracks I absolutely adore. Perhaps I might do another post at a later date.

Some space horror games? Prey, Alien: Isolation and Dead Space?
Prey:
never played | want to play | terrible | boring | okay | good | great | a favorite
i haven’t personally played yet because it’s yet another game waiting for my new harddrive to actually be installed but i did watch a playthrough and i liked what i saw. it had an interesting story.
Alien: Isolation:
never played | want to play | terrible | boring | okay | good | great | a favorite
i have a confession: i’ve never watched alien. as a result, i’m not really that interested in the game. like, it looks good and i was going to buy it when it initially came out but i just wasn’t interested enough to go through with it.
Dead Space:
never played | want to play | terrible | boring | okay | good | great | a favorite
i loved dead space! the necromorph are so cool looking in a really fucked up kind of way
Video games: Hyper light drifter? Cuphead?
Hyper Light Drifter:
never played | want to play | terrible | boring | okay | good | great | a favorite
it’s on my wishlist on steam. i was going to buy it during the summer sale but i wasn’t getting many hours at work so i had to pass. next sale tho...! i really like the art style and the colors are So Good.
Cuphead:
never played | want to play | terrible | boring | okay | good | great | a favorite
i love cuphead but i am sO BAD AT IT. six hours of play and i’m not even off the first isle yet. :( i really need to go back and try again. maybe the long break helped?
Bioshock 1/2/Infinite?
never played | want to play | terrible | boring | okay | good | great | a favorite
they’re definitely games i’m interested in cause the aesthetic is 10/10, but for some reason i never got around to them despite having owned them all on my 360 for years. i have them on steam, as well, though, and they’re some of the games i plan on installing after i get my new harddrive set up
For video games thing: Dishonored, Night in the Woods, ABZÜ, Shovel Knight, and Stardew Valley ?
Dishonored:
never played | want to play | terrible | boring | okay | good | great | a favorite
ngl i’m kinda salty cause i’m really bad at stealth
Night in the Woods:
never played | want to play | terrible | boring | okay | good | great | a favorite
i barely know anything about it outside of a few lines but i dig those few lines enough that i definitely want to play it at some point
ABZÜ:
never played | want to play | terrible | boring | okay | good | great | a favorite
i’ve never actually heard of this until your ask but it looks very pretty!
Shovel Knight:
never played | want to play | terrible | boring | okay | good | great | a favorite
so i bought it on my 3ds, started it, but then got distracted after like five minutes. i really need to pick it back up sometime cause i really want to like it
Stardew Valley:
never played | want to play | terrible | boring | okay | good | great | a favorite
i love the characters and the game overall but i absolutely hate the gameplay. when i play a game, i want to see constant progression. in this game i got waiting around forever for things to complete. i got stamina decay that meant my character was passing out before noon. it was nothing but frustration for me...until i got some mods that let me adjust all that. then i fell in love. some people might consider that cheating but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
