“Lately, the only place that eccentric loner Kim Taehyung can find some peace and solace is in his KakaoTalk chat with a fellow fan of BTS, Jon, who Taehyung has been helping with his English-speaking skills. While Taehyung starts to develop some deeper feelings for his online (and only) friend, he also begins to question who exactly this boy is. Why is he so mysterious? Why does he disappear for days on end and return with no explanation? Why does he refuse to send Taehyung a picture of himself?
Kim Taehyung learns the hard way that getting answers sometimes makes things more complicated, not less.”

a/n: this! fic! deserves! more! attention! i honestly enjoyed this more than i thought i would and i am a picky reader. (*´∀`) has some angst, fluff, smut and drama. the plot is kind of overused, however the writer really shines in the vast expanse of cringe-worthy fanfics who have a similar or identical plot she has used for her story. what really brought my attention was her unique idea of writing the messaging parts (of course, there are some bits where tae and kook message back and forth, but there is a twist!). you’ll understand what i’m talking about once you’ll click on the link and read her fanfiction. officially one of the best taekook work of fiction i’ve read in a while. you won’t get bored while reading, trust me! Taehyung sat in the hospital waiting room, waiting to hear back from the doctors about his boyfriend’s condition. He had no idea what to expect. He had already cried after Jungkook had gone to the hospital and his doctors had said that he might not make it through the night. He just could not feel anymore.
Jungkook had lung cancer. He had known about it for about two years. Luckily, they had detected it in the early stages, so he was able to get treatment. The doctors had said that they almost cured it, so Jungkook didn’t have to carry an oxygen tank around. He just had an inhaler with him all the time.
Taehyung felt numb. He had never expected Jungkook to cough out blood in the middle of the night. Not again. was getting better. This wasn’t supposed to happen. He was never supposed to pass out from a lack of oxygen. He wasn’t supposed to end up in the hospital again. Why did the worst things happen to the sweetest people?
Taehyung was told to expect (and prepare for) the worst. It hurt like hell, being told the person he was about to propose to, his boyfriend of five years, his best friend of seventeen, was going to be dead by sunrise. Because that’s what it meant, wasn’t it? Jungkook would die, leaving Taehyung practically dead, too. He was his lifeline, the person holding him down to earth. Taehyung’s family didn’t care about him. Jungkook was the only one who did. Without him, he would literally be dead.
Taehyung was so surprised when he found out that Jungkook would be okay. Taehyung was allowed to visit him now. The elder literally ran to his lover’s room. He was awake.
The first thing Taehyung did was hug his boyfriend. He then proceeded to pamper his face in kisses, because that always made Jungkook smile. And sure enough, Jungkook smiled. They started giggling, because they were both okay. They were alive, and they were together.
Taehyung still had the engagement ring in his pocket. He was originally going to propose today. He could still carry out his plan. And so he did. He got in his knees in front of the younger, and he proposed. And when Jungkook said yes, they both cried. They cried as Taehyung put the ring on the maknae’s finger and got into the tiny hospital bed with him. And they cried themselves to sleep. But this time, it was out of joy and excitement. For the first time in two years, neither of them were scared.
