In all my 12 years of being a Board of Director for #VIBC @cityofbhangra festival this was by far my most memorable festival. Empowering #SouthAsian fierce females doing what they ❤️ and not looking back. From everyone to @m2ray5 @yunghoneychild @kay__ray @msmutta @jasminesandlas @horsepowar @lilindia_ You are all phenomenal and true to yourselves. Thanks @taruntspoon & @manpalrana for this year's programming. AND special recognition must be given to the strong women BEHIND VIBC (past & present) who have made it what it is today. Everyone from @jotidhesi @manjotdbains who helped launch the festival to @manpreetdhillon @harbirtoor @manveetvirk who helped take the festival to a whole new level. Music Festival Season is in Full Force n' Effect.....

and man it has me wishing I was in Canada.  Our neighbors seem to have got the music festival scene on steroids and I so wish I was there.

The season started last week with the beginning of Desi Fest...a weeklong festival with music and film.  The linked video is from Zoo Babies--one of the bands headlining at the Desi Fest.

Last weekend was also the Banff Jazz festival  with Jazz Director-- the jazz great--Vijay Iyer (Vijay is also a confirmed Beats for Bangladesh Artist)

The madness gets even better this weekend with the start of  WHEN LIONS ROAR.  This Sikh Activist Network festival looks SO awesome!  The festival runs through June 8.   I'll be posting more about it in an upcoming post.

and if that wasn't enough----the festival madness moves to the Canadian west coast for VIBC.

Wow. Hats off Canada. You Rock!
