also like god just imagine him being pushed into a ton of honeypot missions after what happened bc champ mistakenly thinks that’s gonna help him bounce back and him not having had the time to grieve stares into the sun

but also my headcanon is that the statesmen recruit criminals for field agents bc 1) the us criminal system is a joke and 2) they need agents with nothing to lose so imagine young jack trying to avenge his wife on his own and landing himself in jail only to have champ make him a deal - join the statesman and dedicate his life to service or spend a lifetime in prison for what he did
