Potion Permit

We are diving back into more cozy gaming. Today I'll be reviewing Potion Permit!

Potion Permit is a life sim game where you play as a traveling alchemist who must use their skills to heal the residents of Moonbury, a remote town that has banned modern medicine. When you first arrive to town you are met with skepticism by the residents, but as you begin to cure them and learn more about them, they’ll start warming up and opening up to you.

The game's mechanics involve life simulation, solving puzzles and RPG elements. You’ll be able to combat as you explore and forage for ingredients which will be used to to brew potions to help sick patients.

When diagnosing patients, you will use your medical knowledge to identify each of their symptoms and choose a potion that will help with this. However, you must be very careful! If a diagnosis is incorrect, the condition might worsen.

Overall, Potion Permit is a charming, unique and fun game with beautiful pixel art graphics where you’ll be able to build relationships with different characters, battle as you explore and forage for ingredients and will work to gain the trust of the townsfolk as you help cure them from their ailments. Dead by Daylight

Just in time before spooky season ends! I thought it'd be perfect to review a game that I love very much: Dead by Daylight. Let's get right into it!

Dead by Daylight is 4 versus 1 multiplayer game where one player becomes the Killer, and the other four players are the survivors. Survivors must work together to repair all generators and leave the area without being caught or killed by the Killer.

This is a tense game that might have you at the edge of your seat if you're one of the Survivors, as you must be careful not to get caught or killed while going around the map to fix the generators. You can also take on the role of the Killer and hunt around for the Survivors. For this role you must be patient, strategize and use each Killer's unique abilities to be able to track and kill the Survivors.

Dead by daylight is engaging thanks to the variety of Killers and Survivors and maps. Each character has its own unique set of abilities, playstyle and their own cosmetics and items to use.

It is a game that is constantly updated with new campaigns. Dead by Daylight is a thrilling game that is perfect for horror fans, and it's sure to provide endless hours of fun.

Final Fantasy XVI

This time we are going to review something less cozy. Today we're talking about Final Fantasy XVI!

Final Fantasy XVI takes players to the realm of Valisthea, a place with magical crystals and Dominants , humans who are hosts for each nation's Eikon, but now are on the brink of war. Clive Rosfield, the firstborn son of the ruling family of Rosaria, must use his newfound abilities to protect his loved ones and save Valisthea from great destruction.

The game's combat is fast-paced and cinematic, where you're able to switch between different Eikons (summons) on the spot. Each Eikon has its own unique abilities and playstyle, making for a dynamic and engaging combat experience.

Final Fantasy XVI focuses on themes of redemption, revenge and the struggle for survival. This game is different from anything Square Enix has done before with the series. The story may not always be fast-paced, but it's so well-written that you'll be on the edge of your seat and wanting to know how this one ends.

Arrow Season 2 Thoughts

Recently I finished watching season 2 of Arrow for the first time, and I have to say, this is easily my favorite season of CW’s superhero universe so far. For context, I had watched the first two seasons of The Flash prior to this, and decided to check out Arrow sometime after I dropped the Flash early into its third season.

This season had a lot of great growth for Oliver, and further developed not only him but the original cast from the first season as well. There was a heavy focus on the themes of truth and secrets, and it effectively displayed the consequences of being so secretive with the ones you love, especially by the end. Perhaps my favorite part of this season though was its main antagonist, "Deathstroke", and the drama he brought to present day Oliver and the show as a whole. Deathstroke's presence tied loose ends from parts of the first season and brought a great finale to the entire plot of this season.

Overall I really enjoyed this season and I hope the third season is able to deliver as well.

Harvestella

Here's another fun game for all cozy gamers. This time we're talking about Harvestella, developed by Square Enix.

What is Harvestella?

Harvestella is a JRPG/Farming sim game. The player wakes up in a world they know nothing about and must find out why the phenomenon “Quietus” is withering the crops and forcing the townsfolk into their homes each month.

Characters

The characters in Harvestella are charming and captivate with their heartwarming stories and different personalities. As you progress, you'll form bonds with a missionary, a mechanic, a siren princess, and more. You’ll learn their stories and watch as they overcome the tough times with your help and in return they’ll help you on your quest to save the world!

Combat

The combat is a blend of real-time action and strategic decision-making. You can control a party of up to three characters, each with their unique abilities and fighting styles.

Farming & Livestock

Harvestella lets you cultivate a diverse range of crops, cook delicious recipes from your harvest, and raise animals for goods. Use your harvest to cook delicious meals to help with your journey or sell them for a profit.

Harvestella blends combat and farming, providing endless hours of fun gameplay. Check it out!

Harvest Moon: Winds of Anthos

This game is for all my fellow cozy gamers out there! I am a sucker for farming sim games, so you bet I had to get my hands on this one.

As a Harvest Moon fan for many moons, I was thrilled when I first saw the images for this new installment. Winds of Anthos takes a step into new territory. It invites us to venture beyond more than just a single village and embark on a journey across the land of Anthos. We get to venture to new and different villages, all with their unique charm and seasons!

The Expando-Farm system in this game adds a fun twist to the classic farming mechanics that many are used to, allowing you to cultivate your agricultural domain across multiple plots of land, each with different characteristics.

The heart of this game lies in its spirit of discovery. Each character has its own unique story to tell. Each village has a secret and the locals happily share Anthos' history in order to help you solve the mystery of the past. While the stamina system and limited terrain options might bring some challenges, they don't takeaway from the overall charm. This one will keep you coming back for more. There are a lot of quests and it can be overwhelming, but just like with anything else, patience is key.

While visiting friends in Wylie, Texas, I couldn't contain my excitement as I embarked on my first-ever Whataburger experience. We had just spent a day at the shooting range and were beyond ready for a late lunch.

As we received the white and orange paper bags through the drive-through window, the delicious scent of sizzling burgers filled the air. I refused to wait until we got back home. The first bite was nothing short of amazing. The juicy patty, fresh ingredients, and the special sauce came together melting in my mouth.

My friends exchanged knowing glances, their smiles affirming my newfound obsession. At that moment, I felt the pride and joy of savoring a beloved Texan tradition. Whataburger had lived up to its reputation and then some, leaving me amazed and utterly satisfied. The taste of Texas had won me over, and I couldn't believe I came home to a delivery of the 3 pack of Whataburger spicy ketchup bottles from my Texan friends.
