It really is amazing to see somebody else experience a new work for the first time.
The fresh perspective can be like seeing it for the first time all over again.

The best part of having friends is living vicariously through their experiences and achievements and talents. Like, I'm so glad that I know all these amazing people doing dope ass shit that I can't/don't want to do myself, so that I don't have to do it -- I can just enjoy that my friend did it. It’s like my grandmother, who hated to travel because she was a huge homebody, but absolutely LOVED hearing all about other people’s travels. Like she would sit and look at all the pictures from your trip and listen to you talk for hours about all the things you did, and it just made her so happy, even though she had no real desire to do any of it herself. That’s how I feel about my friends. Just tell me all about the stuff you’re doing! I’m so interested and I have absolutely no desire to do any of that myself so this is as close as I’ll ever get! And of course, if we’re friends, feel free to use me the same way. Ask me about the shit I’m doing! I’m happy to talk about it for as long as you’re interested.
