Starter
The Frozen Hearth offered an excellent reprieve from the extreme cold of Winterhold; its roaring flame stood unfettered and the roast smoking over it grew ever so tender with the passing of hours.
Onmund unfastened a couple of buttons and left his outer cloak on a hang to dry. Ordering up a couple of meads didn't seem like a bad idea either. Business was booming.
He would ever so casually look up when the front door was opened, taking cursory glances at the fresh faces walking in.
What can make beasts shed tears? What sentiments send bears to sadness? Grieving fathers? Absent mothers? F r i e n d s sailing back across a s e a she cannot follow?
When the boy walks into the girl's view, she does not bother to push a smile, hates how she can hear the music beyond the trees--hates the idea of happiness. Her heart hurts. Doesn't think anything can fix it--even if her paws ache to reach out and keep the boy named Froki forever ( who do I have left when you are gone? no one else cares ) and though such thoughts are so far from the truth, it is all a sad little bear can think, atop her rock...
She looks down at the boy in his cerulean eyes, wipes her nose so ungracefully on her sleeve--clears her throat.
