VIDEOFORMES, 36eme FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL D´ART NUMERIQUE (2021, 18th march - 4th april)is screening Joas Nebe´s video work THE ROOM PROJECT: MAGIC BOX as part of the online exhibition "GETTING OUT OF ROUT(IN)EAbout „GETTING OUT OF ROUT(IN)EIn 2020, in order to face the Covid-19 pandemic, many countries put restrictions in place to curb the spread of the virus. During the first lockdown in France, VIDEOFORMES launched the call for project “Getting Out of Rout(in)e” and collected more than 90 videos. All these videos were made during the lockdown and the post-lockdown, covering the period from March to July 2020. At the time, the situation was still unprecedented and exceptional. Let yourself go through glances from all horizons: experimental and sensible videos and quirky or poetic visions regarding this strange period. Our private rooms are filled up with psychological projects, unfilled wishes, hopes and dreams. The Room Project refers to this part of our lives and overacts it by presenting virtual places of types of human beings determined by professions, believes and passions. It is because our profession as well as our believes prearrange our personal affections in a certain way that the French call “deformation professionelle”.The Room Project is built up of several video works, mostly one channel.
