The vision of Duncan Africa is to fight poverty in Africa while bringing outstanding instruments into the world.

The people of Africa are brilliant and prolific, but are caught in the seemingly inescapable cycles of poverty and paucity caused by war, economic despair, lack of education and continuous privation.

The DuncanAfrica luthiers are building exquisite guitars that are being sought after by discerning musicians across the globe, encompassing a multitude of genres. Eventually, DuncanAfrica will be owned and operated by the local people of Uganda and the Canadian headquarters will serve solely as a global distribution center.

School Orchards Africa provides funds to purchase and plant fruit trees in school grounds in rural areas of Tanzania, and to manage the orchards and water supply.

Together with local stakeholders, School Orchards Africa helps elementary schoolchildren get a better education and earn money for their secondary schooling.

“Letters of Hope” - A video produced for BethanyKids

BethanyKids is a compassionate Christian mission transforming the lives of African children with surgical conditions and disabilities through pediatric surgery, rehabilitation, public education, spiritual ministry, and training health professionals.

In 2016 they performed 2,546 surgical procedures and treated more than 7,500 outpatient children in 5 African countries: Kenya, Madagascar, Ethiopia, Uganda, and Sierra Leone. They will be expanding their ministry to Cameroon in 2018.

The Edinburgh Tool Library at Balgreen Primary School

After a week in Krakow I headed to Warsaw to spend a week there before making it back to Edinburgh. My usual city-time-lapse-routine was ignored for this last stop since I had made a Warsaw time lapse when I first got there at the beginning of August. 

Since returning to Edinburgh I’ve been enjoying the cool northern climate and the relatively spacious streets featuring considerably fewer tourists!

One of my first video creations upon my return was for the Edinburgh Tool Library - documenting their volunteer build event at Balgreen Primary School. It was a wonderful time and everyone was happy to donate their time to making the childrens’ play area much nicer.

Time Lapse: Tallinn, Estonia I love this city! It's a wonderfully comfortable climate with a beautiful old town that isn't jam packed with tourists. I mean, it has its busy periods but nothing like what I've experienced in Edinburgh or London. While not as cheap as everyone made it out to be, it's still a great destination that doesn't cost a fortune- especially compared to cities like Paris or London. The few restaurants I went to served some delicious food and everyone I encountered was friendly. If you haven't been to Tallinn - or you haven't even heard of it- definitely check it out. It's worth a visit!
