Tell me more about the clan guard. Does it have a hierarchy? Do different dragons have different fighting styles or specialisations?
I’m gonna answer these for both of my clans because the answers vary a little bit from clan to clan!
Verin is the Commander of the Ortus Clan Guard, and Ioensis is her Lieutenant/second in command, but past that there’s no ranks. When Verin isn’t there, or if something were to happen to her, Ioensis is unquestionably in charge, but if something were to happen to her, there’s nobody that would clearly take charge - everybody would just sort of have to band together and get along lol.
Everybody certainly have their own styles/different abilities and such that they bring to the table!
Verin and Io primarily fight with their swords, and when in their dragon forms, Verin is a huge, powerful Ridgeback, and while Io is a little tiny Fae, she’s positively vicious.
Pallida, Reyna, Shiori, and Undertow are primarily physical fighters, with Reyna and Undertow being more the sort to throw a hard-hitting punch, and Pallida and Shiori the sort to tear apart their enemies with their teeth/bare hands lmao.
Olwyn can also throw a decent punch, but she more relies on her ice magic to get the job done.
Robinia is an incredibly powerful witch, and while she has been known to throw her weight around in battle while in her Imp form, she relies almost exclusively on her magic.
Navin and Nova are robots with some sick lightning powers.
Aaand Rythina is…not much of a fighter lol, she’s primarily a scout/keeps her eyes out for trouble, but otherwise she stays out of fights.
And now on to Clan Roava:
Roava is somewhat similar to Ortus in that they have a Commander and a Lieutenant - Rusila and Thalia respectively - that function in much the same way as Ortus’, but I sort of really want to give everybody else ranks of some sort, too! For now, though, everybody is just under Rusila and Thalia.
Roava has a few more dragons in their Guard than Ortus does so I’ll try not to ramble too much about their fighting styles lol.
Rusila mainly fights with a sword and she’s damn good at it. Her technique is…different than some of my other dragons that use a sword, in that she learned on a pirate ship and she tends to fight a little dirty, much to the surprise of anyone who knows Rusila and how quiet and nice she usually is lol. You put a sword in this girl’s hand and she’s pretty much unstoppable.
Thalia, on the other hand, never felt particularly comfortable with a sword, though she could use one rather well if need be. Her weapon of choice is a bow and arrow, and she’s an excellent, almost unbelievable, shot. She also knows a bit of water magic, but she doesn’t really practice at that, so it’s nothing remarkable.
Pythia is fairly decent with her sword, tho she’s mostly scrappy and likes to fight with her hands.
Echo is somewhat terrifying lmao. She goes hard in a fight, not to mention her banshee-like powers - she can emit an eardrum-shattering screech from her mouth, and though it’s rather painful for her, she’s not afraid to use it against an enemy.
Edain can handle a sword, but she primarily uses Light magic/is a skilled Light mage, and is incredibly gleeful while doing so.
Typhon and Myste are just starting to get some real training, and mostly fight with their hands.
Mira will fucking destroy people in a fight lmao. She has a trident, an ice pick that she sorta uses like a grappling hook/very painful lasso, and is also a powerful water mage. Plus she’s buff af and can easily punch someone’s face in lol
Arys and Evie are knights and primarily use their swords, as it’s hard to move too much in their somewhat bulky armor, but Arys also has a little skill in hand to hand combat. Evie also has a little bit of skill with light magic!
Belaruza is primarily a physical fighter, though she also likes to use her small amount of fire magic sometimes to throw in some flames.
Hippolyta, Tullia, and Aegea are all fairly skilled with their ice magic, tho Hipp and Aegea are also Great in a physical fight.
And lastly, Felden and Ninlil are mostly just guards, they’re not great at fighting at all, especially Felden.
