seriously though, probably not. mostly because a, she wasn’t a ranger anyways and b. she wasn’t a fan of most of the local fauna. why do devourers have so many legs. why do lizards have eight billion spikes. why are moas taller than her. also probably because some cub in the fahrar thought it’d be fun to trap her in a room with devourer hatchlings. they didn’t hurt her but it wasn’t fun.

18. What’s their favourite genre of: books, music, tv shows, films, video games and anything else

cae doesn’t like fun

modern!cae would actually probably like a lot of memoirs. not out of enjoyment but because shes like knowing how to crush her enemies

she’d also love really violent video games because it’s a great way to work out stress. she’d also probably be like. a raider leader in some mmo and be very frustrated when everyone is dumb as fuck

28. What is their biggest fear? What in general scares them? How do they act when they’re scared?

Losing Vex and inadequacy, in that order. Being inadequate and losing her sister because of that is even worse. Beyond like, that. She’s lowkey afraid of the Risen and also super uncomfortable around like, devourerers or spiders because they have like more legs than necessary and that’s just unacceptable. Probably claustrophobic.

She gets really aggressive when scared. Like even more so. She becomes very snappish and angry and basically half-wild and does everything in her power to remove herself from the situation when afraid. If she’s just mildly uncomfortable/afraid she’ll be tense. If she’s super afraid, she’ll literally bite or maul anyone to try and escape

38. What do they admire in others? What talents do they wish they had?

She’d love to be taller. Is that a talent? no but still

she wants to be taller

48. Do they enjoy any parties? If so what kind? Do they organise the party or just turn up? How do they act? What if they didn’t want to go but were dragged along by a friend?

She doesn’t mind parties too much unless they start getting real big and loud and crowded. Then she gets kinda uncomfortable. She usually shadows Vex anyways, regardless of the situation though.

They could hear the screams of their distant cousins, begging them to stop.

They could see planets shy away from their grasping limbs, the movement so swift in their view and yet taking light years to those who saw below.

Their siblings demanded they stopped, and yet they could not. They did not remember what caused this--anger, desperation, hunger? Perhaps they had just burned themselves out too quickly. Perhaps something had interfered. They did not know. Most of them did not care. They were famished.

Either way, their self had collapsed far too early, long before their death should have come, and they found themselves hungering for life again, scrabbling to absorb everything around them.

They could sense their eldest, Alpha Leonis, Regulus, speaking ancient words in radiation. It caught in their limbs, dragged down for them to hear, to listen to the banishment for their mistake, their collapse.

The words of their siblings was too much to bear, the curse laid upon them was condemning. Their siblings were older, much older than they were, and their words gave them shape again, contained the anger and hunger into a smaller form.

And they were falling.

Waking up was not something Omega Leonis did. That was not what stars did. They were awake in the sense that the oceans were awake, the earth was awake, always moving and churning and breathing.

And yet there was a distinct lack of memory, a distinct break between their fall and now. Darkness, like the void that quietly hummed away inside them. They looked up at the sky, head tilted, hovering quietly above the ground. They saw their siblings stretched out in the sky, the gaps invisible to the human eye but visible to them where they used to be, where their cousins who had been devoured used to be. 

Stars did not feel emotions either, and yet they felt a hollowness once more, like the one they tried to feed with the explosion of mass. And yet this one could not be sated by devouring, by lust, by greed. This one sat in them, empty, and they let out a soft sound they did not know they could make.
