Kiccha Sudeep talked about Vikrant Rona in an exclusive interview and also revealed that he got in touch with Salman Khan after the superstar received death threats.
Kiccha Sudeep on Salman Khan receiving death threats: Salman Khan has not been coming out of his house for a long time due to security reasons. The superstar and his father, Salim Khan, received death threats in a letter recently after which the Mumbai police tightened his security and his team limited his public appearances. His friend and actor Kiccha Sudeep now talked about the threats issued to the superstar and how such incidents prove that an actor’s life is vulnerable.
Speaking to india.com and the entire Zee Media, Kiccha said he got in touch with Salman after the death threats. He said the actor would immediately start cycling the moment he is allowed to step out of his house because he lives his life with freedom. Kiccha said, “I checked on him. Main Salman sir ke baare me ye bata deta hun ki unko abhi chodo, toh vo abhi paidal niklege, abhi cycling niklege vo. Ye unka decision nahi hai, ye unse pyar karne vale logo na and police deparment me jo kaam karte hain, unka responsibility hai. Varna vo abhi bhi niklege paidal. He has lived his life like this. He has lived his life the way he wants to. He is a harmless man. He is a straightforward man.
Kiccha Sudeep reacts to Salman Khan receiving death threats
Kiccha, who has worked with Salman in Dabangg 3 as the main antagonist, added that the reason he likes the superstar is not that he’s popular or is one of the most influential people in the industry, but because he has a good heart. “There’s a reason why I like him. I don’t like him because he has stardom. I adore him for his stardom but I like him because of the kind of human being he is. We started meeting each other more on the sets of Dabangg 3. Being an actor, stardom won’t impress me. And it’s the same for him. He connects to your heart, your truth and your humanity. Don’t go to him with two faces, he will know,” he said.

When asked if such threats to stars or to their family and friends put them in a vulnerable position as human beings, Kiccha said it does but this is what they have chosen for themselves. “This is what we have chosen though. We have made a choice to be public figures. We can’t complain about it. We will get both the brickbats and the claps. You just don’t use the car steering to turn right or left, you also use it to dodge the jerks that come your way while you are driving. This is what you have to learn as an actor. Dodge and move on,” he explained.
Kiccha is gearing up for his big-budgeted adventure saga titled Vikrant Rona. The film, directed by Anup Bhandari, is releasing worldwide on July 28 in five Indian languages – Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, and in foreign languages including Spanish, English, Italian and more. Kiccha Sudeep who is promoting his upcoming pan-India film 'Vikrant Rona', unfortunately, had to cancel some of the promotional events due to ill health. The actor apologised on social media for not being able to meet his journalist friends in person. However, Sudeep, who is recovering from COVID-19, got in touch with ETimes and discussed the film, his long association with Salman Khan, the hook song 'Ra Ra Rakhamma', and much more.
Sudeep's association with Salman Khan goes back to the 'Dabangg 3' days when they shared screen space in the franchise. However, Salman and Sudeep share a special rapport with each other that is not just limited to profession.
"Salman is family and he is always going to be family. He has a special place for me and I think in my family, we all have a great position for him in our lives. He has earned it and so have we in his life," admits Sudeep
The Hindi version of 'Vikrant Rona' is being distributed by Salman Khan Films, and Sudeep feels Salman's initiative to back the film is a huge support. The Kannada star feels his relationship with Salman is nothing to do with business, but it is more personal. "He is a big star, he has a big name and he has seen enough money. It's just support that he is rendering here (Kannada). I think it's a huge thing for SK Films to come on board. Of course, they loved the film, whatever parts they saw. So Salman associating is giving strength to us.
' Vikrant Rona' songs have created a massive buzz on social media and the songs are already on several playlists. The peppy song 'Ra Ra Rakhamma' featuring Jacqueline Fernandesis ruling the charts. Kiccha takes the credit of the hook step for himself as he says, "I think all of them owe it to me for the success of the hook step. The reason is that I am a dancer with minimal talent. So Jaani Master made sure that the steps were easy with not much movement of the legs, but only the hands and hip movements are there in the step. It's not a complicated step. There are many complicated and beautiful dance steps but those steps, a layman can't do. But if they are able to do them, they are called hook steps. So that way Jaani Master is a pulse reader. Jaani Master and Jacqueline are fantastic, made for each other, not for me though (smiles). I love the way Jaani Master pursues the songs and he has never come up to me with a complicated version and he better not. And it is fantastic to have Jacqueline in the song because she does everything and I just need to walk."

In 2021, Kiccha Sudeep in an interview had spoken about his plans to direct his Dabangg 3 co-star, Salman Khan in a feature film. Ever since then, not much has been known about his subject. In an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, Sudeep opened up about his next with Salman. He confirmed that there is something brewing in that direction. "When (read IF) I am directing Salman Khan, you should wait no," he smiles.
Sudeep is quick to add, "The process just started last year and wait for some more time. I have to tell him the story, then he has to say a yes and then tell the time of coming to set. With Salman Bhai, it's going to be like that. He is so busy with so many people writing for him. We keep discussing and it will happen at the right time." His Vikrant Rona is presented by Salman in the Hindi markets.
Sudeep insists that SK has seen some footage of the film and was mighty impressed with what he saw. "He has definitely seen the show reels which was around 18 minutes long before coming on board the film. He was impressed and has been linked with us since then.
I share a bond with him and have an equation. I didn't go asking him, once he got to know that I am tapping the Hindi market, he said, 'I am there for you'. It's a very big thing. He is a big star, earning money left right and center," says Sudeep.
The actor concludes, "He was there for me and did his best for my film. It's a huge thing for me. If he believes in something, he will do it."
