The bittersweet taste of... Well, the fandom lifecycle.

I went to check in on a ffnet author I chilled with briefly, I back in 2012-2014, he went by ViktorMayrin, I think he was decently acquainted with Nugar as well, but alas... he has purged all his stories. 🥺 I hope ffnet restores PM email notifications reasonably soon, it's been almost a year. Who knows if he'll see my PM, but he was a cool dude. He recommended Bravely Default to me. Wouldn't have played it if not for him.

Hot Take - RWBY would benefit from doubling episode length, cutting less content, and releasing content every other year instead of yearly. I mean, too little too late NOW, of course, but imagine if we'd had three times the content and character development by the time the finale of Volume 3 rolled around.

Honestly I don’t know how to rate this one, because I’m just not sure how that works, business-wise. I don’t know how episodes are slotted out, or if there’s a set number of run time they have each volume. 

But that would have been nice, for sure.

Gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised to see that post on the RWDE tag. Keep up the good work. As for my two cents on the matter, a majority of RWBY's issues boil down to money and time issues. That, and Monty's sudden passing added in some more factors that no doubt has contributed to some of the problems of the show. It's not perfect, and I would never expect it be perfect. That's just not a fair expectation.

I agree. I think it is unfair to think that any show will be absolute perfection, as even those held in high regard do have their flaws underneath whether or not people acknowledge them. 

I do think that is the majority of RWBYs issues as well, time and money. From what I know, Money was one of their main animators as well and the only person who could animate Sun’s original weapon (which is why they changed it). The issues related to RWBY from time and money can’t be fixed overnight and would involve actually expanding RT as a company and increasing the amount of budget they can put into making RWBY. Likely for that to happen, RWBY would have to make it onto regular television or a block like Toonami.

viktormayrin reblogged your post and added: Teams don’t really have to be based on anything, so long as they follow the color rule. Is it more fun to create a team with a theme? Oh, definitely. A really good place to look for ideas for characters to be based on is Mythology and Folklore.

It definitely does seem like more fun that way! I like the challenge and doing all the research on stuff. Your teams are really cool btw!

About Ruby not being Taiyang's Kid: It's been disproved since about volume 1, as Monty made a post on his twitter specifically saying that Yang and Ruby are half-siblings, which immediately and permanently precludes Qrow from being Ruby's biological father.

Yesss, good to know. I was completely against the idea, so it’s good to have confirmation.

@onceuponalegendbg: Monty confirmed that Yang and Ruby are half sisters. And plus, having that kind of reveal twice within the same family would be pretty lazy writing if you ask me.

I dunno about lazy, if only because showing different family dynamics is something I always enjoy. But, I certainly wouldn’t have liked it because I’ve grown attached to Taiyang.

Yang's inspiration is a bit vague, as the hints come from the opponent in her trailer. Hei Xiong is Black Bear in Chinese, which indicates Goldilocks and the Three Bears as Yang's fairy tail.

Thank you for the help, love, but remember I wanna try and guess it till I get it right. Hints are great, but don’t tell me outright, please. :)

That’s pretty interesting, though. I can definitely see Goldilocks being her influence.
