Bruno's got the evilness of "says something mean to someone and means it but feels bad about it for a long time after" in canon. Doofenbruno is the only Evil AU i can imagine

when she goes into the walls mirabel sees bruno picking up the vision shard and he goes "Ah mirabel, how unexpected. And of course by unexpected I mean, COMPLETELY EXPECTED" then the chase scene goes on like it does in the movie
He traps her in a giant version of one of his rat theater face cutout boards that she can't get her head out of.
