I'm sorry but I can't picture Villain!Bruno being any more sinister than like...Heinz Doofenshmirtz
My headcanon for Evil!Bruno is that he would take care of his partner with all the love of the world. They would be like Morticia and Gomez Addams. Two outcasts who only need each other.
Bruno was sitting at his desk, working on answering more of the letters sent to him. Cheerful smile spread across his face as he read some of them. Others made him blush. It was honestly nice getting so much attention after being alone for so long.
He had replied to another letter when the air suddenly felt different. The hair on the back of his neck stood up and he felt uneasy.
"So... this is the version of me that is getting so much attention..."
"WHAA-!'
Bruno let out a cry of surprise as he jumped from his chair, grabbing his upside down broom to ward off any unwelcome guests.
"W-Who are you?! How did you get in here?"
He asked, feeling a bit violated that some stranger entered his room without him even noticing. And what did he mean 'This version of him?'
The man chuckles as reached out gently pushing the broom down so they could actually see each other.
"Now now, don't be like that. If I had wanted to hurt you, I would have done it when your back was turned."
"But to answer your questions. I am you. Just from a different universe. An... alternate universe as some call it. As for how I got in here, that's not important."
The man before Bruno said with a sly grin.
"But you never asked me WHY I'm here... go in. Ask me why."
"...Why are you-"
Bruno didn't even have time to ask when the doubkeganger before him cut him off.
"That's such a good question. Good job."
He said mockingly, patting Bruno on the head as he continued.
"The simple answer is, you're getting a lot of attention here and I want it. So I'll be filling in for you from now on. Which means... You're not needed anymore."
"WAI-"
With a snap of the other Bruno's fingers, there was a flash of brilliant green and Bruno was gone.
"Oh dear... I hope he wasn't about to say something important. Oh well."
He hummed as he picked up a few of the letters Bruno was just reading.
(From this point until either notice, all asks will be asked by this Bruno)
I watched Encanto again today (I just wanted to watch something that would give me a good cry) and I was just thinking... I know that the concept of Evil!Bruno was a somewhat popular one that came out in the wake of the movie coming out like a year ago and the fandom that stemmed from it. But like... Bruno is honestly just a really nice guy who wants the best for the people he loves. It is REALLY hard for me to imagine a version of Bruno that would be genuinely ‘evil’ or ‘villainous’ that wouldn’t just be horrifically out of character. I know that this is just something that’s stemmed from how people have turned him into a sexyman, but still. It’s not a concept that sits the best with me.
However what I can imagine that I think could make for a pretty interesting premise for a story or an ‘evil’ take on Bruno is like... What if at the end of the movie when Mirabel is crying next to the river, her Abuela doesn’t show up. Alma continues to be stubborn and genuinely doesn’t want to see Mirabel again. But Bruno does still arrive. And so after talking for a while, Bruno and Mirabel decide to leave and don’t return to their family, instead deciding to live on their own away from the village that they used to call their home.
I feel like that would work!
OK so after seeing the post of @no-saving-me-now I decided to compare evil Bruno from Bill Schwarb on IG and the actual one we have in the movie because it could be interesting to highlights what makes Bruno cute or scary so let's go!
First detail we can easily notice: his teeth. They're sharps in the evil version and... Normal in the actual one. Actually the evil one's are a bit broken and he misses one. It makes him look a lot like a monster that could eat you for lunch.
Second detail we can notice : The cheeks are plenty on the actual one and sunken on the evil one. As if he was a skeleton while the actual one is made of flesh.
Like the difference between skeleton!Hector and Living!Hector.
A third detail we can notice: Actually I already noticed that in the We don't talk about Bruno song but evil Bruno's mustache is curved. While the actual one's is straighter. It clearly is made to look like a demon in the evil one.
Fourth detail we can notice: His eyebrows are darker, and have sharp sides. Again to make him looks like a demon of course though it isn't the most obvious detail.
Fifth and last detail we can notice: And again one we could already see too in We don't talk about Bruno, briefly though, Bruno's ears are sharp in the evil version. While, again, the actual's are round. Again to make him looks like someone that isn't even human. The sharp ears are even used on some video game heroes as Link from The Legend of Zelda series to show he isn't human. Not necessarily a evil trait but surely doesn't help portray him as someone reliable.
I think that's all? Didn't notice something else but maybe I'm wrong. Well, it was fun to do!

hi evil bruno has captured my brain for the moment and was like “what if he did tattoos”
"Evil... Bruno? That would be unfortunate. I've gotten so used to his cute, dorky self, but thinking about it, I might have a few ideas. If I did evil!Bruno, I would probably pull from the classic Disney Villains who are evil because they want to be and it feels good, not because they're misunderstood. I think Bruno already has the misunderstood title under his belt."
"No, as interesting as it would be, he wouldn't have a seven-foot-frame. And let's just say that "We Don't Talk About Bruno" would be ten times worse..."
((Screw it, I'm posting it here too))
