    ever since his arrival to both this time, and the city, damian had made it a mission to track down family members that he was aware of being present. needless to say, he had expected his mother to be a bit more of a difficult find, considering, though eventually he had managed to trace down the location that had seemed to prove the best option. so, here damian was, ignoring the more proper way of knocking on the door to instead sneak through into one of the windows, keeping in the dark for a few moments as jade hues dart around the space before him, assessing the space -- assessing exits, the layout. everything he had been trained to properly do. “mother,” he finally spoke up, finally taking a step from the shadows. “i had hoped you would be here as well, although i cannot say i am surprised you made yourself immensely difficult to find.”

bay tree : does your muse seek glory & accolades , or do they favour a simpler , more personal life ?

In some ways: Both.  In his youth, Eivor was very much driven by glory, curiosity, and the story he would leave behind one day. He wanted his children to be able to proclaim who their father and be proud of it. It drove him to do nearly everything that he did in his youth. From stealing the boat from his Ruling Lord to sailing from island to island discovering new people and places along the way.  However, Eivor never looked to be a Ruling Lord. He never wanted this sort of power. He did not challenge his Ruling Lord in one-on-one combat to get the title but to save the life of his family and crewmates. He did not go to war to become a great warrior, he just fought the best he could. Eivor does not actually like most of the responsibility that now comes with being a Ruling Lord. He does it because his people choose him to. If he had his way, Eivor would go back to living on a farm and sailing as much as possible to new lands. Especially as he has gotten older. He has come to enjoy the smaller things. The more personal moments hold more weight these days.

                         ˙  ˖  ˙  ˖     ELDYN  GRINS  EAR-TO-EAR  as  he  pats  her  shoulder  affectionately,    ❛  of  course  i  do.  ❜    the  two  were  bickering  over  a  silly  little  thing  as  if  they  were  children  again.  he  thought  toothless  was  a  terrible  name  for  the  kitten  he  found  whose  tooth  was  slightly  chipped.  if  it  still  has  its  tooth,  what  sense  was  there  in  calling  it  toothless ?    instead,  he  thought  the  name  lily  was  much  more  suitable ;   the  petals  of  a  lily  were  as  white  as  the  kitten’s  coat.  eldyn  felt  he  was  right    &&    well,  kassandre  seemed  to  disagree.    ❛  so,  let  me  hear  it,  kass.  ❜
