I think Vincent while being suddenly thrown into playing his part of belonging to the Rogue Trader dynasty and got moved to Koronus, he would definitely write letters for Elayne (his beloved spouse who was left in Calixis), still being clueless about her death, to cope with her apparent absence.
The thing which later evolved into basically being a memoirs of his time in Koronus, never to be sent to her or maybe rather never to be delivered. He rewrites these countless times, something he strikes out and adds anew, adding more letters one after another, the piles of them. So here's the first part, which as well maybe the first draft of a letter he ever writes. I think I might continue with more as the actual playthrough progresses.
