This is my new artistic piece for college is called "Brand Identity" and it is about how the "Brand" or "persona" of the artist shapes how they are precieved in society rather than the other way around. The painter's body of work is literally filling how who he is as a person for him. The once detailed and complex human face is muddied down into a simplistic scribble caricature of what was once formerly there. Both are artist and the Piece are both in the process of painting the other,showing that the act is infact a consentual one,that by creating this body of work and the persona attached to it,the artist is willingly forfitting their own personal identiy for "the brand".
