Vinnie’s Pizzeria and Ristorante - Main Street in Boonton, NJ
So I’ve always heard that the third time is the charm. Not so in Boonton. After being let down by two extremely ok pizzerias (Roma and Pasquale’s LINKS), I should have trusted my better judgement and quit right there. The fool I am, I decided to stop in at Vinnie’s Pizzeria. I mean, it was right across the street from Pasquale’s and someone recommended it to That’s So Cheezy! to check out. How bad could it be, right?
Wrong. Vinnie’s was easily the worst slice of pizza I ate that day. I had a bad feeling about it before I even got inside though. I spied the slices from the doorway and they just had that old, congealed look to them. Oh, and once again there was hardly any selection! Mind you, I got all these slices between like 5 and 6 pm on a Sunday. Isn’t that when people are trying to eat pizza on the weekend? Anyway, I continued my trend for the day and stuck to my tried and true pepperoni, praying this slice just looked bad and would taste halfway decent…..
Too bad it instead tasted like it came straight from a Neapolitan Ellio’s Pizza. It had that disgusting canned sauce taste and dry, stretchless cheese that just had me reaching for my drink. And the pepperoni didn’t help at all either! Whoever is supplying this town with pepperoni, they are doing an absolutely horrible job. I couldn’t even finish this slice because it was just straight up disgusting, besides the surprisingly decent crust. Honestly, for $2.50 I’d almost rather buy an entire Ellio’s Pizza. Almost. Don’t bother coming to Boonton for pizza ever. It is straight trash.
