I’m procrastinating doing my assigned readings for my class on Thursday by spending my morning reading a book that describes how knowledge was suppressed during the rise of Christianity and that tracks how manuscripts for modern theories in math, astronomy, and medicine survived through copying and translating. Currently tracking Euclid’s Elements, Ptolemy’s The Almagest, and Galen’s writings from AD 300 to AD 500.
