So they confirmed 3 NPCS are savable, which once AGAIN means they're doing the shitty thing of refusing to break the prologue curse after doing that so wonderfully in The Quarry.
Confirming this feels so fucking ridiculous because what do you MEAN you've set up a character in euch an amazing way, giving her a bigger part in trailers, yet none of it mattered and it was just a cause to lead us on? Why bother putting love and thought into a prologue duo (who, by the way finally SEEMED relevant) just to make them not actually relevant at all? Tomas seems relevant enough because he's first kill for a REASON. But if they do truly go through with killing Simms in "spaced" and the cloaked person is her mimic, genuinely what the actual hell is the point? Why would they need to make an interesting plot only for it to be basic boring and nothing actually interesting happens with a character?
They put all these tiny little details in for her character.. Her bio makes sense because her sabotaging the ship for humanity would work.. Her telling her mum she is saving the human race by NOT letting the mimics come back to Earth. Her name meaning angel because she's EARTH'S GUARDIAN ANGEL. So much made sense.. so much made sense for her to have a role that was yes she saved herself from death once, but she was so "determined" to stop the mimics, she lets herself die on the ship, takes it down with her every time. THAT is the sort of death I could handle because it would make sense. But her being shot out into space and dying like that is ridiculous and atp.. what is the actual point of her being in the goddamn game at all? I hate smg sometimes.
Trying to write a Hermitcraft season 9 fic about Grian is really hard when you’re trying to be accurate to the timeline of events. The timeline of events is part of where the original idea came from, so it’s important, but trying to figure out timing of things is so difficult. Like I’m struggling to get the pacing of the story down cause I only need certain events.
For example, the crossover is a huge part of the story, but I only need two-three events from it. This makes me feel like I'm skipping around too much since I don't feel I should recap the entirety of the crossover, seeing as nothing besides the events changes.
Grian’s minimal uploads don't help with the feeling that I'm skipping around too much since I'm forced to do so to keep an accurate timeline. There’s legitimately a 44-day gap between the end of the crossover and Grian uploading again, and that upload is just a recap of previous events.

I've had a Tyranid army since 4th edition, an army that's definitely over 7k points by now. But sure, just cause I think the Bros who are written with some heavy homoerotic undertones should kiss, it means I'm a tourist. Ah well, what do you expect! I'm just glad the 40k fandom as a whole has generally been more welcoming of taboo material. Which, when most of your named characters are genetically related in some way, it's bound to happen.
Anyways, if anyone here is bothered by taboo material, specifically fictional incest, feel free to block me and move on! I haven't exactly been shy about it here or over on my ao3. I don’t care what anyone says. I love that Turning Red addresses periods in a positive light, it’s an important thing to talk about ESPECIALLY in children’s media, we need to normalize period conversations. It’s a normal thing to have! And it should be seen as such!
I’m tired of periods being a taboo thing to talk about, or even being used as the butt of a joke. It’s not disgusting! It’s not something people should hide! It should be discussed and people should feel safe to talk about it instead of being shamed!
So all the people making a big fuss over how the movie isn’t appropriate for children need to grow the fuck up. Allowing kids to be comfortable with their bodies and find confidence within themselves to be themselves is not your problem, and it is an extremely important thing to let children be themselves and not be scared to talk about things, even something as natural as a period!
Turning Red is literally one of the only children’s movies I can think of that actually discusses periods in a positive light. Any other example I can think of when it comes to even the utterance of the word in children’s media was to be used as a joke, or even a snide comment like “Are you on your period or something >:(” or “Why are you so angry? Are you PMSing?” So I’m fucking grateful that this movie added this topic, it literally made my heart sing.
And another thing I’d like to add is that it IS very important to expose young boys to the conversations about periods too!
Please allow children to be educated on these topics, stop treating periods like they’re some icky gross thing that needs to be hidden away from society.
