Asking for your “audience participation fic ask game” 💙

What was the first scene or vibe that came to your mind when you initially came up with the idea for your Lure series? Or was it more like “I wanna throw them together in this specific way and now I have to figure out how to make a fic around it?” Lol

I love your series and your works btw 🥹 I’ve been going through them recently and I’m obsessed with how you write the joukai boys. 🫶

For Audience Participation: Fic-Writing Edition ask game

The first buds of Lure grew from the thought: "I want evil joukai." (How evil they ultimately became is up for debate but this is the most "evil" I've written Kaiba thus far.) In general, I also love mafia AUs so thought it might be neat to take a stab at it. I DEFINITELY DIDN'T INITIALLY SET OUT TO WRITE 200K IN THIS WORLD! I think I was personally captivated by that scene in the later half of Rule of might's chapter 1 (which was the sum all and be all of Lure initially) where Kaiba had Jounouchi kidnapped and tied to a chair in an abandoned warehouse and he got to be homoerotically threatening with a knife.

Then Lure evolved into the AU where I could practice writing kinky twisted smut. Jounouchi ended up going through a character journey almost incidentally. Subject the poor boy to enough sexual torment and that's gotta change him right?

Plot came much later while discussing random scenarios with Dane. It kinda became our sandbox for playing with these dolls. But there is enough Deep Lore for this AU now to trace the evolution of their relationship for close to a decade. Not to mention there are the AUs of this AU (omegaverse Lure and Caged). Now the problem is finding the time/motivation needed to write all the stuff. 😂 I will at least finish the Year 1 stories. They are probably the most impactful in terms of character/relationship development.
